Hi, I'm applying for the 2015 YLP. MY GMAT1 score is 630 (v38, q39). I will be retaking the GMAT in a month's time. My GPA is 8.1/10, and I'm an economics student in a top 10 arts college in India. Any suggestions about the application process?

Thank you.

Give yourself enough time to nail the GMAT. I don't see ISB giving significant consideration to YLP applicants with sub700 scores.

Hi Rasta,

Thank you very much for your feedback. I have finally decided on 30th March, as my date for GMAT2. I hope my preparations will enable me to make the 100 point jump I want.

Can anyone give some feedback/suggestions on the following essay topic:
Tell us about 2 of your significant accomplishments to date. (max 300 words)

As far as ISB is concerned, what is likely to qualify as an accomplishment for them?

Good luck with the GMAT. You might want to start out by going through this thread on GMAT Study Plans.

Re. accomplishments, it can be anything really. Don't bring up something from your school days unless its HUGE. Don't bring up coming in the top 5% of the class.
Examples of accomplishments: Starting up a new club; organising a national level symposium; starting your own tech firm while in college.

Do you already need to have a job lined up by the time you apply to the YLP? This is bound to come up in the interview stage - they're definitely going to ask "what are you going to do for the next two years?"

If you are not expected to have a job lined up, then does ISB help you find a job in any way? Otherwise, what's the point of this program? If I could already find a good job by myself then I would just apply to ISB after 2 years in the normal way instead of going through the YLP.
