businessdocn, congrats on getting $$ from both CBS and Kellogg! That's a tough feat!

I guess since they're flying you out to Kellogg for DAK II, you got a similar scholarship as terry and myself? If CBS offered you $15K more than that, that's QUITE an offer! Nice!

Oh yeah I had meant to ask, I know someone had mentioned K paying for travel at DAK, did that include just a flight or accommodations as well?

I dont know any of us R1 folks who got airfare paid for. However, a bunch of us got money...no where near the half tuition Kry and Terry got but a couple got up to 13k.

Kry and Terry, I was talking to a K alum and mentioned something about the Austin scholarship. He pretty much said that opens tons of doors, a lot of them go on to be very successful and have that little cult thing going. Plus it looks awesome on a resume since almost everyone who recruits at K knows what it is and that only a tiny percent of the class get it. Pretty much screams you are the top of the top.

Oh as for the not granting extensions, I have heard that its common for a lot of schools to not grant them. I asked a few people and they said schools dont like to give them out for a variety of reasons. Ranging from they fear you will play other decisions against them for scholarships or you are using them as a backup all the way to their yield is shaping up to be stronger than they thought so they are forcing your hand since they want to get an idea as fast as possible what the class will look like so they can make decisions on R3, WL, and any remaining R2 folks.

Terry I dont think anyone would hold it against you for going to Stanford haha. Though with your profile you will probably get the top gigs at either school. I was going through the Kellogg hiring info which is very impressive since they show where EVERY student goes and has tons of other info there...it is a very impressive list of places (big name VC, PE, and HF in addition to the typical companies) so if you end up at Kellogg you probably will get any job you want. Maybe we should tell you not to come, too good of competition

I have pretty much put you in the pile of folks not showing up this fall but still am thinking Kry will come to his senses.

ditto for the info river. Yeah, I think what you said is the exact reason both terry and I (who were pretty set on going to Stanford and Haas, respectively) will have a pretty agonizing time in the next few weeks trying to figure this decision out. It is truly a great honor, and I do not take it lightly.

EDIT: Haha, "come to my senses" eh? :P We shall see, we shall see....
