Thus, this is why the comparative strengths of any program in the top 6 (or so) can only get you so far. The programs are so strong across the board - that these comparative programmatic strengths often end in a wash - there's a reason you applied to the top schools you did, because you believed you would get a fantastic education in the areas you want to at any of them.
Thanks Steel. I see your point on the top schools being strong across the board. I agree, I will have numerous opportunities to work on my soft skills at GSB or utilize my analytical ability at kellogg. The people and culture are certainly different at the two chicago schools..having worked in companies with very different cultures, i know how important this factor could have on job/school satisfaction..I am thinking Chicago based on the culture/people factor, but the admit weekends will give me the best picture..

ujjib, I think you have a tough choice to make and a few things to think about when you make your decision.
river, thanks!!! no tough choice here..i actually get that (cliched) feeling that i cannot go wrong on this one. i am leaning towards chicago, but if Kellogg would even give me $5K, I would totally shift my loyalities..
As you point out, my post MBA goals will be a major factor in my decision. THe problem is I am not really sure about my goals. In my essays I have written about exploring entrepreneurship opportunities in India, and even though my idea is decent, I do not think I will be ready for it immediately after MBA. I am not even sure about a broad field yet..These are some of things I am considering -
Consulting (very slight edge to kellogg)
GM/Strategy Groups (slight edge to kellogg)
IM (certainly chicago)
Non profit (both)

My friends at the GSB tell me that landing finance gigs (internships) for international students this year has been very tough. I imagine that its the same way at all the schools.
mgoblue, i haven't heard about the hardships in getting financial internships..infact the adcom chats and some current students were pretty positive on recruitment season inspite of the subprime meltdown. IB is a no-no for me, but I do want to know more about the status on internship recruitment this year..thanks for the advice. recruitment and academics are going to be my top questions to current students..one thing i did hear is that Big3 consulting internships are very very difficult to get at every school..

BTW, fill out the DAK Roll Call and I'll see you in a few weekends!
Thanks Kry. I will certainly see in you in a couple of weeks. I got two engg. degrees too, but I moved out after working 1yr in R&D. It was all about the culture at work..
Academics is also a factor for me. During my school visits, I have been thru so many classes that made me wonder if I really want to spend $100K tuition for these classes. I think I will get the best in-classroom experience at chicago and that certainly means quite a bit to me..
