Re: Kellogg 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
I had my interview on Friday, off-campus with alumnus.
VERY standar questions. All of the expected (walk me through your resume, describe current job, why MBA, why now, why Kellogg, describe a good team you've worked with, describe a bad team you've worked with, what do you know of the Kellogg 2 year MBA program, where do you see yourself in the near/mid/long future).
1:10' his questions,
20' my questions.
I think I had a good performance, and was quite excited, until I read about the 87% interview invite stat...
good luck to you all

I'm wondering how folks don't know that Kellogg has open interviews when they apply. It's what they're known for. Kellogg invites people for off-campus interviews before they've even submitted Part II of the app.
Kellogg doesn't even review apps until the interview evaluation is completed (unless an interview waiver was given). A good interview is definitely a plus. But unless you have received an invite AFTER receiving a waiver, getting an interview at Kellogg is no indication of how they perceive your application. Unfortunately for the majority of Kellogg applicants there is no way to know if Kellogg is remotely interested until you get the admit/waitlist/deny decision. Anyone who applies should know this going in.

I was thinking the same thing. It's stated in no uncertain terms on their website, not to mention in information sessions/campus visits...that's one of the reasons I applied in the first place. Now if only they actually invite me to interview!!

I am new to this thread, I submitted my part I and Part II deadlines close to the deadlines and requested an off campus interview in Delhi but havent heard back anything from Kellogg. Just wanted to know if most of the invites have been sent out already. Let me know if someone has any information.
Thanks,

Well if you go back a few pages and just browse through the posts on this thread, you'll get most of your answers...

Here's an excerpt from Kellogg website:
"Phone Interview If an off-campus interview request is waived, the admissions office may contact the candidate to schedule a telephone interview. The interview may be used to gather additional information or material that will help the Admissions Committee make a final decision. Applicants who receive a waiver may not request a telephone interview."
I guess in my case the adcom must have waived my interview and now probably want further information on my profile. Not sure if this is positive or negative.. It would surely be odd to answer Why MBA/ Why Kellogg on phone
BTW, I asked while scheduling the interview, if I could visit the campus for getting myself interviewed, but I was told it could happen only on phone.. Not sure how to interpret it though..

Just went through the posts for R1 in this thread.. appears that the interview invites for India started trickling in between 6 through to the 7 week after the part 1 deadline. So i guess the invites should start coming in anytime soon. If you are located in India and get an invite/waiver make it a point to spread the word here! Cheers.

Anyone in the NYC area receive an invite for round 2 off-campus interviews?
Yes - I got my invite on Friday the 13th. However my coworker who sits a few cubes away got his all the way back in late Dec, before even submitting Part 2. So it seems pretty random... have faith.
PS: We both interviewed about a week back in the city, with two different alums.

Does the application status change to complete/under review at any stage? Been couple of weeks since the interview and nothing seems to have changed in terms of status
Just realizing how long this wait is turning out to be
