Same here, interview next week.

They'll be sending you an e-mail with further info on the interview. I suggest contacting current students to request information and tips, they're very friendly and helpful. Also search this forum for previous interviewees. They're mostly MBA students, but it's still interesting to read their take on the process.

Hi everyone
I have applied to MIT, LSE (Finance and Private Equity) and Warwick and am planning to further apply to MPhil at Cambridge, FinanceEcon at Oxford and Finance at Imperial.

Have any of you already got notice from MIT? I guess they'll be sending out answers tomorrow. Also interviewed a couple weeks ago.

On the question about Oxford / Warwick: Warwick has a very reputable Finance program in the UK; it has strong links to financial institutions in London and I think that its curriculum is more flexible than that of LSE (which is the big minus for me at LSE). Have you considered Imperial? great program, very quantitative, in the city and thus strong links to the financial institutions..
cannot say too much about Oxford - I am applying for the strong economics component, but it is very expensive in comparison to some other UK programs.

My profile
GPA 3.97 in Finance Undergrad, GMAT 730 plus couple of internships in Audit, VC and PE

Cheers

Hi everybody,

anybody got a feedback regarding your applications?

I got rejected at HEC but just received an offer from MIT. Anybody I'll see in Boston next July?

Congrats on your offer! I received One As well but still thinking about whether I can come up with so much money for the tuition! Will you accept? Do you mind sharing your Profile?

well, yeah, the money is still an issue - it's definitely the most expensive master among my target schools. But it's also my top choice.

profile: european, GMAT 730, finance undergrad (top 5%, GPA 3.7-4.0 depends on grade conversion), currently working for big4 in asia

applying for any scholarships?

same here: MIT is my top choice but also by far most expensive! many of the scholarship deadlines were in November and I did not think I could get into MIT and thus did not bother for US scholarships..

I see it as an amazing opportunity and a chance to go back to Boston but have real difficulties with the money! Also waiting for LSE, Warwick and applying to Cambridge but not sure whether I will be able to push MIT until hearing back...

bifteck, are you likely to take your place?

nice to know somebody that has to take the same decision as myself.

for me, only LSE's feedback is outstanding (only applied for MIT, HEC and LSE - already completed but not submitted application for Oxford) and I'll most likely take my place at MIT, even if this means taking a loan.

I'd just love to come back to the states (1 yr during high school) and MIT's name is really big in Asia, my preferable work location upon graduation.

I'm looking for scholarships right now, but as you mentioned before, most deadlines already passed. We'll see - keep me updated.

well, yes feels kind of good not be in those shoes alone. It would be a huge loan for me, as I don't have any savings - just graduated last May and all my money saved previously was spent on studying in the US for 2 years already.

Will you take a student loan in your home country if you decide to do so? I guess in the US they would probably offer better conditions but it's really difficult for non US residents.

I am thinking about everything after New Year's I guess and will probably make a decision in January. I think in your case for wanting to work in Asia, MIT really makes a lot of sense. I want to work in Europe and I am just not sure whether an MIT degree is really necessary for working here in comparison to a degree from LSE (in case I even get an offer).

Keep me posted if you decide on anything for sure.

And happy holidays!

Hi Sarahboston,
I am applying to Imperial MSF...talked to adcom and career mgmt teams during their last visit to Mumbai..it seems a good program with strong links to I Banks in London...
Any idea how is it when compared with LSE and Warwick?

Even I don't have any such statistics. Would be great if someone could answer the above question here.
