Calling all Minnesota (Carlson) 2011 Applicants!

I'm in! I think Carlson heard about my Kelley acceptance earlier this week and felt compelled to jump on board.

The acceptance was in the form of an email (received just after 11am EST), with a note that I would be getting the official acceptance letter in the mail and giving me login info for the admitted students site.

I thought in the past they pretty much released all acceptances for a given round at the same time, but this seems way to early for that.

Relevant dates:
-1/4 adcom member called me to see if I had any questions on Carlson
-1/12 received interview invite (had started app and sent GMAT, but hadn't submitted app yet)
-1/20 submitted application
-1/25 on-campus interview
-2/7 received email that all official transcripts had been received and file was "complete"
-3/2 acceptance email

I'm actually visiting family out of town so i'm hopeful when I get back home next Monday I will be able to see if I get any $$ at either school so I can really start to get a handle on things.

P.S. Why oh why do the Carlson and Kelley admit weekends have to occur at the same time?

To be honest, i'm waiting to see what the $$ situation looks like. If Kelley or Carlson gave me a full ride, and the other nada, then that might make my decision between the two easy. If it the decision isn't easy from a $$ perspective, I think I will likely re-visit each school later this month, asking to meet with students closer to my specific career aspirations. I'm a very atypical applicant (35yo, unusual jobs, etc.), and for me "fit" is by far the biggest factor so I won't just be opening up USNews and just picking the one ranked higher (Kelley) as that really means very little to me.

The wild card is McCombs. I interviewed there on Monday and absolutely love Austin. If McCombs came through I think it might be very hard to turn down.

Me, too :D Now I am waiting for the admit packet. The financial aid will determine whether I will matriculate or not!

Well done on all who've got in! I'm still waiting and have an impending ding from Berkeley so am really on tenterhooks.

Can I just ask: are you admits from Minnesota / wider States or international? (I'm in the UK)

Thanks! I should stop overanalysing such things. This whole process is driving me nuts!

More important might be when the interview was completed. I sent in my application in my Rd. 2 application in early January and interviewed in late January. I'm assuming this is why I was in the first batch of invites.

Anyone know the dates of orientation?

I interviewed in early February, so fingers crossed I hear something soon

Does anybody know if there were any rejections in yesterday's batch? I have been told by the admissions office that I have been given a decision, but can't access the email because it's been sent to my official Fulbright address - which I am not allowed to personally look at. How frustrating!
