One thing I recall from the MIT info session is that a GMAT below 650 leads them to "ask questions." Which means, I assume, that the rest of your app needs to be very solid. MIT claims to be a "recommendation heavy" school. Do you have really strong recs? If so, and if you feel very confident about the rest of your app, it might be worth a shot. Maybe try the Peer Review forum and see what other schools people suggest. Good luck!

And congrats on interview invites!!! ))) Why do you need to go now? You seem fairly young. My advice is to raise your GMAT score and wait another year or two. As of right now, I don't see a really good shot at MIT. They are the most quant heavy school out there, and your gmat q score is in the 50th %ile. I have no doubt you will be able to raise your score, your gpa seems on target. If you need to go next year then figure out what your goals are and where you want to be. Then you can decide whether schools that you will be accepted to meet that.

Great, now I'm tempted to be paranoid because of the Kellogg frenzy with status changes.

Mine changed today as well. I'm trying not to read too much into it because I'd go crazy if I do! (Why did it take so long? Am I at the bottom? Which pool am I in?)

I don't see any reports on BW of people getting invites since that first day. So either they're going to take their time in distributing them or they pulled an HBS and sent virtually all of them in one day. *prays for the former*

*prays for the former* maybe they're doing the regional rollout?

I know from experience that all applications change to "complete and being evaluated" and will remain that way until an admit. Even when you're dinged, you won't see a change.

I wonder if MIT applicants are just less active on the boards. I personally know 2 people with invites out of the 4 people I know that applied. Yet there are only ~4 reported on BW, here, and admissions411. Something seems odd.
