My name is Andrew and I’m a first-year student in the MIT Leaders for Global Operations Program. If you’re new to the program, LGO is a two-year, dual-degree MBA/MS Engineering program founded at MIT and is a partnership between the Sloan School of Management and the School of Engineering. LGO is focused on educating technically-polished future business leaders to solve tomorrow’s operations challenges. I’m starting this thread with a few classmates to help answer some questions, to familiarize you with the program, and to let you know what being a student at MIT/Sloan is really like.
A little bit about me and my background:
Born and raised in southern Maine.
Graduated in 2009 from the University of Maine with a BS in Chemical Engineering.
Began working at Invensys Operations Management in their Engineering Rotation program.
Transitioned to software and hardware quality assurance at a smart grid communications start-up named Ambient Corporation.
Admitted to LGO in the Aeronautics and Astronautics department.
As a new member to the forum, I can't link you directly to the LGO website but I've included a list of links attached to this post. Check it out and let us know what questions you have, or just use this as a no-stress place to chat with other applicants!
