Well, except for writing another complex essay.
I've only had a cursory look at the MIT essays, and they seem so tough. First, you have to come up with very specific stories for each essay without stepping over other essays, and then you have to ensure that such stories define you enough. Well, the good news is that you have another 2 weeks to refine and then refine some more.

However, 3 and 4 suck big time. I also think my supplemental info essay is good. Will have to work a lot this weekend... what did you use your supplemental essay for?
I have a friend who graduated this summer from Sloan, who told me to use the supplemental essay, to tell the things you couldn't tell on the cover letter. I cannot give them all the reasons for the MBA and Sloan at a 500 cover letter. I will use the supplemental info for this extra piece of info.

dabots, MIT is very keen on promoting this certificate program. So, if you do get in, and show in your app that you are intent on starting your own business, then they may offer you a seat in E&I. Last year, many of the admits were offered a seat in the E & I even without applying to E&I.

God this is such a pain in the ass. I think some of my essays are interchangable. Seriously two of them would work for the other topic without changing more than a few key words.

I have solid drafts of all my essays done but I don't have anything for a cover letter yet. I should have them all completed by the weekend though.

After completing U-Chic an Stan apps in two consecutive weeks, I am jumping to the MIT thread.
Checklist -
Cover letter - say what
(hoping to condense my 1300 words Stan goals essay to this - MIT Gurus can you advise how to fit into 500 words stuff like - long term, short term goals , work ex till date , why an mba , an why from MIT - am presently thinking of seriously toning down work ex - into say three lines an instead of a seperate why MBA that I have for other schools, just make it a why MIT.....but still dont think i'll get it into 500 words)
Essay 1 - A
Essay 2 - A-
Essay 3 - B
Essay 4 - C-
The first two I am reusing word from word from my Stan App.......these have been done an dusted. The next two no one has even taken a look at till now.
Optional Essay/ Additional Info - I am not sure, but going through the posts on this thread , looks as though MIT has two seperate additional essays.
Again Gurus please advise. I have the following points to address - a failing mark in college, no LOR from current supervisor, list of non-acadamic awards I won in college, and finally community service that does not come out in essays (earlier I was getting an LOR to address this.......but in MIT they want only 2 work related ones). Please tell me where to put in what.
Thanks

They suggested that almost every MBA students do not do after their MBA what they suggested in their essays. I'm telling the Why MBA in only 3 lines... sangoman wrote: Again Gurus please advise. Use your Supplemental info essay to tell them that.
I'm not actually a Guru, just telling you that I'm doing from what I read and heard.
Good Luck

Adding to what kwam said, MIT ad-com said that they dont care if you have a well-defined career goal or not. So, ya, you only need to touch upon them briefly. However, if you have a fairly defined goal with convincing experiences to back up "why?", it will still be an advantage to elaborate about them.

I dont know alums. But some one here stated he was a starting bloc fellow. Basically, starting bloc is an entrepreneurial venture promoted by MIT.
