For international student, visa considerations are quite real. Anyway, let's see how things pan out Good luck - R2 applicants. Some advice: I think I had a strong application, but a bad interview. In retrospect, I should have been more familiar with S-T-A-R technique and with de-constructing situations to what I thought, felt, did etc. Urge R2's to be better prepared than I was.

They're still on the site... http://mitsloan.mit.edu/mba/admissions/applicationinstructions.phpThe cover letter is a mainstay of the Sloan application. The other questions vary a bit (I can't speak to the LFM essays), but they always start with "Tell us about a time..." Sloan is big into concrete examples in both their essays and interviews.

When are you going? I am attending the 1st available session on 09/17.
God, Boston hotel rates suck. Did you manage to find decent affordable accomodations.

Yeah, Boston rates are crazy. I am looking to book a hotel for 2-3 days during the last week of Sept. Haven't found a single place offering a decent rate

I just booked at the days hotel on soldier field road about 5 miles from MIT. $90 per day.

The tough thing about staying in Boston isn't just finding a place its finding your way around. Make sure that you stay near a T-station, its a tough enough subway system as it is but its better than taking a cab.
I know there are a at least a couple Days Inn on Soldiers Field Rd so you should be able to find a room. They should be right around 100 dollars and not the 300-400 you see at a lot of places. All the big cities are expensive. We are planning our Chicago trip right now and its the only place we don't have a free place to stay. Of course my wife likes to stay at nice places so 300 bucks a night here we come.

Well, I looked into Harvard. They have an info session on the 17th, starting at 1pm.
The morning session at MIT extends till 1 - so trying to figure out a way to visit both.

Luckily they aren't that far apart. Depending on whats going on at MIT you might just be able to skip out a little early and make it to HBS on time.
