Oh long time since I last logged in. Congratulations those were admitted recently and in R2.
I am attending the preview weekend from tomorrow. Missed out on other gmatclub meet ups in NY but hoping to catch up with you guys this weekend!

Glad to be at the end of applications road finally. I am all set upon joining Stern this Fall (barring the few remaining formalities of Kroll and Visa stamping). So, looking forward to meet other GC Sternies soon. And Pre-View weekend was fun...also, what a coincidence to be sitting next to Solaris on the dinner table

Hello all, just writing to give an update: I've withdrawn from Stern to attend the University of Michigan (it was a tough decision). But, in the end, I hope I've opened up a spot for one of the waitlisters here! Best of luck to you all!

has anyone received final confirmation or verification that their background check was cleared? I was accepted in the first week of March and submitted my deposit & Kroll information immediately, but it's been over a month and I haven't heard back from either Kroll or Stern.
I don't forsee any problems with my background, but it is making me a bit paranoid. The wording of the background check indicates that my official enrollment will NOT be complete until the Kroll background check is complete. And obviously before I decline other schools' offers I need to make sure that I'm 100% ready to roll at Stern.
Kind of paranoid, I know.. but I'm just wondering if it usually takes this long? I have only had 2 jobs/2 employers. No criminal history or academic disciplinary action, etc. Was honest on my app so there should be no discrepanices.

I've seen people in other threads noting that it took them 4-6 weeks to hear back a second time from Kroll/the school.
Kroll's definitely doing stuff though. I heard from them last Friday to confirm receipt of my fax and I got an e-mail earlier this week about some issue they were having with my check. They said their deadline to get back to Stern was fast-approaching or something like that and asked me to respond within a week so they could tie up loose ends and be able to get back to Stern on their required timeline.

CBS also uses Kroll for the background check. Their students pay less than us and there are more detailed information on their kroll accounts to fill in. I know people from CBS who heard back from the school that they passed the check in 6-8weeks time. I hope we will hear from NYU soon.
