Unfortunately it was a graduate ambassador (recent grad) giving the tour, and not an adcom member, so I didn't feel like I got a lot of info I couldn't found on the website. However, the experience did reaffirm the good fit I felt with Stern. Having gone to the CBS info session the night before, Stern really does feel more down-to-earth than CBS. Also, Stern seems much less pessimistic about the job market for career changers in 3 years when current applicants would be graduating. At CBS they were very gloomy about the prospects for career changes, esp within finance. My feeling is that in 3 years the job market will likely be very different than it is today, and this was Stern's position as well. I did ask specifically about the MBA/MS dual degree but he didn't know anything about the admissions process for the MS side, so I got no new info there.

To comfort, you get pretty much the same information from a GA as an Adcom - perhaps with more feel for the school atmosphere. The Adcom's are very careful to ensure that equal inside information is released to all candidates - hence no feedback (as they feel they should provide it to over 4000 people or none) and other items. The dual degrees you need to get in to both programs, I don't think either inform each other of the status. If you are looking into the MSc with Courant and Stern, I recommend that you are careful and informed with your course selection. Courant runs classes when Stern's recruitment takes place and if you don't actively monitor this you may find yourself in a tricky situation (this feedback comes from early participants in the program - it may have been blocked in future).

Cool, thanks for the info! The one issue that SJ and I are unsure about is the recommendations for the Courant MSc application. They ask for 3 academic references, which is not surprising for an MSc program, but like many prospective MBA students we've both been out of school for 8-9 years so academic references would be tough to get. Do you happen to know if there's an allowance for this for dual degree applicants? If not no worries, I'm going to reach out to Courant directly.

That I don't know brainhurt - it is administered by each school alone as I understand, as in the MFA/MBA structure. I expect people are a little younger typically on the MSc side (and subsequently the MBA-MSc) but I would say as at Courant. I might have some info to help somewhere for other reasons though.

Hey, I'm in for Round1 or 2. Applying through the Consortium...NYU is my first choice. But I gotta get my GMAT score up. I tanked on it last year...

Hey Justreallygood, When did you get your invite? I got an email saying that they were still making decisions on Friday. I turned in my application in late August. I hope everything works out...

Either way, I'd like to know if I've been invited or not. Did you get anything after that email?

Okay... It's not whatever at this point... @ Perseverance Maybe we're in the "maybe" pile. Hopefully, we are. Plus, my GPA slipped big time in ungrad. I was very, very, very sick junior/and part of senior year. That may be killing me... IDK at this point...
