Were you told about the scholarship package during the call?

stern does things a little differently...just like you learn of your acceptance thru an email telling you to check your changed status update. you don't find out about a scholarship until you get the hard-copy acceptance package physically mailed to you. some people may get phone calls checking to see if you checked and saw your accepted status...but that comes after the email.

what is the avg. $ scholarship at Stern?

stern's website: http://www.stern.nyu.edu/programs-admis ... olarships/
says they give out scholarships to approximately 40% of their admitted students...which seems like a high number. i don't know what the average amount is though.

i've only seen full-tuition scholarships from the various schools...does anyone know if it's possible to also get a scholarship that includes additional expenses (ex. housing, supplies/materials, living stipend, etc.)?

Hi there, does anyone know how long does it take to receive the confirmation that Kroll check is OK? I am an international, so I assume mine will take longer. Looking at last year thread some people waited more than 8 weeks! I am looking forward quiting my job and I would feel better to be over with the Kroll thing before quiting.

I am in an indentical situation: waiting to quit my job but only after the Kroll verification comes through. I found out that my background check is complete and the report is lying with Stern. Anyone knows how long this takes, typically? I am an international student.

Also for people with questions about scholarships, they come in the mail shortly after your acceptance via email. Mine took about a week. Out of curiosity what is the range of scholarships they offer, in terms of dollar amounts?

Thank you!

As a curiosity when did you complete the Kroll form? And how do you know that Kroll has sent the report to Stern?
I work in a huge company so there is no way to know who Kroll has been in contact with. I personally do not manage to get in touch with my own HR; it's a department that seems to be out of phone and email reception lately...
It's been a little over 3 weeks now that I submitted my Kroll form... still waiting.

Well in my case it's been 5 weeks now so I called up Kroll and asked them what was going on. They informed me about the fact that my verification was complete (about a week ago) and the report was lying with NYU Stern. I then called up Stern but received the typical answer of how it "takes time" to process the results before we let candidates know, but that I shouldn't worry. Just waiting now... :)

I received a full-tuition scholarship for both years, but I do not think that is the case for everyone. One of my friends just received $20k a year, so I do not think there is any rule that says it has to be all or nothing.

Is everyone who has been admitted attending the admitted students weekend in April? I am excited to meet everyone!

sorry, should've clarified...i know there are definitely NOT only full-tuition scholarships; they range from all amounts (very small, to full-rides). i guess what i'm asking is, is that the max? has anyone seen any scholarships (at stern or other schools) that also covered living expenses or something?

and question for you, allaboutmimi13...yours is guaranteed for both years or is it the second year pending that you're in good standing?

i'm not sure if i'm coming to the admit weekend yet. all the schools have the same 2 weekends for their admit weekends so i need to figure out where to go (still waiting to hear back from a school).

I have not heard anything about more than full tuition scholarships... wouldnt that be nice, especially in such an expensive city. Mine is "re-newable" providing that I am in good standing. Several people that I have talked to say this is pretty standard - did they note anything different for you?

Which other schools are you considering, if you dont mind me asking?

Okay so I interviewed off-campus on 12th. There was some document missing from my application, so I received an email for that on 19th and I responded back by 20th. Haven't heard anything from them yet...should I press the panic button yet? :)

Not been having a good week (with Kellogg and Booth)!

Several reasons - I used to live in NYC and I think the opportunities to network there far surpass Chicago (my personal experience - many would disagree). Also, I am in the entertainment industry, and Stern has relationships with many of the companies that I would like to work for. As cliched as it sounds, Stern really just felt like a better fit for me.

Good luck in your decision! Congrats on your scholarship as well!

My terms were the same...renewable providing I'm in good academic standing. Seems to be the standard phrasing
