Is it just me, or does the Ross Google Group seem too sterile? Maybe people are wanting to make good first impressions by not putting anything on the line (because it's not anonymous). I'm certainly not contributing a whole lot there b/c I fear being judged.

I bet some people are holding back because they are undecided about where they will be going to school and are currently considering at least one other choice...

For you California kids - I moved from Oakland to Chicago a couple of years ago and put all my belongings on Amtrak. It cost about $100 to ship everything I own. Highly recommended. how does that work? http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentSe ... 1267371736 I think if you pack a pallet it's even cheaper, but I just boxed up my belongings, labeled them clearly, and brought them to the Amtrak station in Emeryville (looks like you can go from LA to Ann Arbor, but I would call the number posted for specific arrangements). I pulled my car around and unloaded it, they weighed everything, and I picked it all up in Chicago a week or so later. It was cheap and totally painless. Hey that works for me. Amtrak does not ship to the state of Michigan (don't know why) but they do ship to toledo ohio, which isn't that bad of a drive from ann arbor :D.

67 dollars for the first 100 lbs
57 dollars for the second 100lbs.

I think that will work for me, I'll just use boxes and suitcases that fit in my car :D

Nice! It's a little-known service, I think, but it's totally great. Enjoy!

Unless I seriously missed something, I didn't have to do a background check and I'm enrolled. The only thing they wanted from me was for every school I've attended (including extension schools) to send official transcripts to Ross directly. I haven't been contacted for anything from Kroll as of yet and it certainly wasn't in my acceptance package.

Hello anu 1979, where did you find the requirement that for every school you've attended, the official transcripts need to be sent to Ross directly? I got some spare copies of the official undergraduate transcript, so I just wonder if I can mail this to Ross or need to contact my undergraduate school again with regard to the official transcripts. Many thanks!

orangeblossom, I believe it's either in the acceptance letter on Wolverine or in the directions when you pay your deposits online-then they send you an automated message about "completing your enrollment". I also wrote to Kelly Kong and asked her if it included any extension schools (non-diploma courses you've taken to supplement your career, for which you attended a school that issues a transcript) and she replied that it's a) every school you've attended for which you'd be issued a transcript (so she did say that for me, that would include my extension classes since I took them at UCLA) and b) that the school has to send the transcript directly to the Admissions Office. Most schools have online forms to get transcripts now so just enter the mail delivery address as Ross. Although that reminds me that I have to figure out who they need to be addressed to-I haven't bothered to do this step yet because I've been busy with other details. I plan on getting it done this week, so I'll update you.

The Admitted Student's Binder arrived via UPS today as predicted in the recent email. Very nice looking materials that appear to be very comprehensive. I guess the admit is official. Where do I sign?

Hope all is well here at GMAT Club.

Congrats on admission, and hope to see you all at GBR.

Gmat Club served me well during the app and matriculation process, so I thought I'd pop in and see if anyone head any questions, etc.

After Jenkins Post, I found this other blog.

http://www.zacharyemig.com/

Although it's from a couple years ago, I think alot of what he says seems really interesting and relevant.

Per a student on BW forums, Dean Dolan is leaving in 2011. What's everyones thoughts on that?

It takes a lot of momentum to turn a big ship, so as a current or soon to be student, I wouldn't really think anything of it. In general, I met him and have heard him speak and I wasn't all that enamored. I didn't feel like he had much of a view/vision for Ross. I think they could find someone equally as good. Note, those were just my impressions based on a one time meeting, so the current students are certainly better suited to trump my opinion.
