Is any one else facing problems on the Page 6 - Activities & Honors of the Ross Application.

In my case it says :- This page is only required for BBA, Master of Accounting and Master of Supply Chain applicants.

Last year, I just left that page blank.

Hi everyone,
I will be applying to Ross in R1 and thinking about attending either VIP (visit in person) or Ross Preview Day. Which one do you think is more informative and/or useful? I understand that sitting in the class is not one of the activities during Ross Preview Day, am I correct? Thanks.

Sorry for the taking so long to reply, I wanted to check on the two activities before I respond.

The Preview Day is intended to be a more extensive overview of Ross. The difference are:

VIP:
- Student Panel
- Building Tour
- Classroom Session (Mon-Thurs)
- Lunch with MBA Students

Preview Day
- Student Panel
- Building Tour
- Lunch with MBA Students
- Application Session with Admission Officer
- Session with Office of Career Development
- Opportunity to meet students and staff from the various instates and centers

I hope this helps

"Essay 1: Introduce yourself to your Ross classmates" 100 words

During the end of the essay, are we expected to show courtesy? for example, saying things like "its great meeting you all" or "hope to have a super 2 years together" etc etc?

I'm no expert, but I am assuming that this is not necessary.

On another note, I just submitted my application. I hope they do something about the online application site. It took me over half an hour to finalize the transaction because the site kept flubbing the file uploads.

The app still appears editable to me. I had to quickly look into my inbox and find the email that said "We have received your application for the Full-Time MBA program and look forward to considering you for admission to the Ross School of Business."

My interviewer didn't say anything about it, but it felt like it was a blind interview.

I had an off-campus interview with an alumni and he only had access to my CV.

I thought I'd share my experiences with Out for Business, the LGBT Club at Ross.

About 3 weeks ago, I got an e-mail from a Ross 1st Year who is on the club's recruiting committee. I'd self-identified as LGBT in the application, and they were reaching out to all students who had done so to see if there were any questions they could answer about the Ross experience in general, or specifically for gay students.

When he found out that I'd received an invite to Super Saturday, he was very excited, and set up some time to chat with me about the interview process, and answer any other questions about admissions, his experience, and the culture at Ross. It was all non-evaluative, (had no bearing on whether I get in or not), and it was clear that this was club-driven, not adcom-driven.

That said, I really appreciated having someone from the school, even non-adcom, reach out to me and engage me like that. I have spoken to folks from the LGBT clubs at all of my other schools, and they've been very nice, dynamic, and helpful, but none of the other schools have had proactive outreach like Ross.

Gotta say it was a huge plus for them.

I interviewed yesterday at Ross. I love my time there and everything about the school. The facilities, people, location and everything else are amazing!

My interview went well. I started off a bit slow, it was 845 am and I kind of stubled through my first few sentences, but after that I found my rhythym and everything else went off without a hitch. My interviewer was a 2nd year and he was great. He not only interviewed me, but afterwards we chatted for about 5-10 min and he gave me some advice on what to expect at Ross, how recruiting was, etc. Then, he invited me to sit in on his Valuation class, where I was able to meet his roomate. I found at that they both knew the Ross Ambassador I had been e-mailing so it felt like a very small world!

Anyway, the questions were all stuff I had prepared for. One question (describe a disappointment/failure and how you grew from it) I for some reason overlooked in preparation, BUT this was an essay question I had to answer for another school so I just drew on that and improvised a bit. Also, during one of my answers he interjected with some follow up questions so I knew he was listening.

The wait until Jan is going to be excruciating, but I can't wait!

Good luck to everyone for the SS event.

[quote="neosumit"]If only Ross would have informed about it's loan program for International students being stopped, I would not have wasted my time and effort (including some hundred dollars) to apply.

I agree.
Why isn't Ross informing applicants of this?? I'm really surprised especially as they normally are normally very transparent (e.g. Soojin's Blog and the P&Q interview).
Even Wharton emailed their applicants to let them know of the finance changes. Ross should do the same. I think it's unfair and disrespectful to applicants to keep them in the dark.
