Hi,
I had my interview for the MSF program last week. I got a voice mail from Greg McDonald (executive director of admissions) yesterday telling me I got in :D Just received my admissions package today!
I am still undecided about the school though. It would be a lot easier if I heard anything back from Duke.

Anyway, how many people here will be joining the masters of finance class this year?

I think i'll send mine in sometime next week. That is if I can come to a decision! Rossyjr did you apply for the MS Finance program? If so did you concider any other schools and why did you decide on Simon ?

I did consider a couple other schools before the application process but Simon was the only graduate school I applied to. My professor of Econometrics nominated me for the early leaders scholarship and after finding out it was one of the top finance programs in the country it was an easy decision for me. It was an easy decision because a lot of young students go there (Im 22 and a graduating Senior @ Ithaca College in upstate NY, and Rochester is only 2 hours from my home where i still coach my younger sisters sports teams! I applied to the MBA Finance program but eventually switched in to MS Finance after talking to a lot of people. The faculty at Simon are phenomenal and know how to get information across. They have recently dedicated the program to aiding in job searches instead of preparing for interviews which I believe is more important. The students that come out of Simon are also very happy with the program and remain close to other Alumni. Being close to home and getting a scholarship was just too appealing to pass up and although applying to one program was stressful it helped knowing where I wanted to go.

I have decided on Simon too. The talk with Greg and the revamped Career management center were major factors for me. I will be sending in my $1500 deposit early next week. Very happy to have chosen Simon, finally after talking to so many people I have made a decision. I did my undergraduate from the Rochester Institute of Technology so really looking forward to heading back to ROC :) Anyway I hope to see you in Rochester.

Of those who got admitted into Simon, where are you guys staying for housing or apartments? Does anyone have any idea where new students typically stay? Thanks

CONGRATULATIONS to all who got accepted. Hi guys, I am planning to apply in U of R for next year as well, Can you guys please shed some light on how to write essays, what were the interview questions you faced, and anything else that might help me prepare for my application and Interview when i score one? To emaichbe03, I would love to hear your entire experience of getting accepted. Thanks. Also I am very confused about One required essay (double spaced, 12-point font, 500 word limit) that is mendatory for application, what should be the topic of essay? Can anyone please post/PM their essay to give me solid ideas about what should I include and what should I stay away from in my essay.
