Calling all Stanford SIGM 2011 Applicants [#permalink] New post 12 Feb 2011, 02:51
Hi,

I could not find a thread for Stanford SIGM 2011 applicants.
Since there has to be first to everything, let it be the place..
Lets evaluate the pros/cons of the program and compare it to the alternatives available.

Some quick questions to ponder
1) Is it worth it? Academically and financially?
2) Networking- can a worthwhile network be build in a span of 4 weeks?
3) Resume polishing- Does this tiny course at a top 10 school add anything to resume? Will it appeal to the recruiters? Will it appeal to the top tier B Schools in case applicant wishes to pursue MBA later?
4) What if an applicant, with no business background, already has an MBA admit and wishes to brush the business subjects before taking off for the MBA..is it worth it?

Appreciate response to these !

Cheers

Seems like a way for Stanford to collect some extra money from kids with too much money and too little sense. You could be doing far more useful things with your time (GMAT, volunteering, traveling, starting a business, learning an instrument, etc.). Just my $.02.

Any applicants for 2012? Is the programme a good idea for people with business background?
