It's difficult to guess the true % accepted after an interview since that 66% includes those who initiated an interview in the first round. In that case you might have a better chance of being admitted since you were actually invited to interview; tough to know for sure though.

Congratulations to all the admitted applicants!
I also received admission to Tepper and wanted to know if people have any insight as to how students from non-technical backgrounds do in the program.
I have an undergraduate degree in business and a background in finance, but after pulling up the QSRP curriculum and seeing topics such as matrix algebra and multi-variable calculus I started to think about the quantitative aspects of the program and whether I'll be at a disadvantage relative to the engineers and computer scientists.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks

I think you're there to learn, and that these subjects aren't in your comfort zone. Likewise, there will be courses that favor your background, where you'll have a leg up. The school wouldn't grant admission if they didn't think you could handle the work.

Thanks I understand your concern ... all I can say is that dont worry everybody is in the same boat. I did go thru that QSRP curriculum and it does look scary. I havn't touched that kind of calculus for years and pretty sure its the same case for everyone else (unless you are a math major and just finished your degree.)

Has anyone else had an interview in the last few days? I'll be in Pittsburgh this time next week. Just thought this thread needed a little bump. It fell to the middle of pg3.

Did any of the R1 admits receive an email after the interview saying: "Just a note to let you know that your application is complete. Decision emails will be sent out on xxxxx, 2009." ?

"Made numerous technical presentations & the findings of our Capstone project on the application of aluminium silicon carbide composites in the automotive industry; Published results in the SAE journal."
The aforesaid is a syntactical error I have commited in my submitted resume.
Is this a deal breaker?

I visited and interviewed recently. I was really impressed with the program and students. The campus and city aren't bad, either - they just compare unfavorably with where I went to college (Ivy) and live now (East Coast city). The interview was very straightforward, and the admissions staff are warm and friendly. The questions I remember are:
1. Tell me about your academic and professional background. 2. Why an MBA, and why Tepper? 3. What are your short- and long-term professional goals? 4. What role do you play on a team? 5. What is your leadership style, and how would the people you lead characterize you? 6. What do you do for fun? 7. Any questions?
As it was my first b-school interview, there's plenty of room for improvement if I'm fortunate enough to get another. Good luck to those of you waiting to hear about interviews or planning to visit soon!

I have applied to Tepper in R2 and stumbled upon this forum while preparing for my interview. I did benefit from the interview questions that several members have posted and decided to give back to this community. I had my interview with Lauren Capone and these were the questions she asked me 1. Walk me through your academic and professional life 2. Why MBA Why now 3. Why Tepper 4. What will you contribute to Tepper 5. What are your plans after graduating 6. Any questions for her The interview lasted 45 minutes.
My profile : 3 years experience in IT , international applicant , 690 GMAT, extracurricular good, Private business experience.
At the end of the interview she said I would be a great fit at Tepper. To all those admitted, I would appreciate if you could say if you heard the same line or something similar. And all those not admitted could you also share if you too did hear the same line. I just want to know if this is something they say to all candidates or she was really impressed with my profile.
Thanks so much mbagmat2010. mbagmat2010, I know it is hard to wait for the final decision but unfortunately nobody will be able to confirm anythings from Lauren's remarks. Those were difinetely GREAT remarks and looks like you showed them your love towards Tepper. But at the same time keep in mind that some of the adcoms are very positive in that they dont want to let you down. Long story short, you nailed Tepper and time to jump on to the next school (if you have one in your list). Hanging on to the feedback will only frustrate you ... You difinetely have a good GMT and having good ECs making your applicaiton even more strong.

Thanks so much mbagmat2010. My adcom interviewer also gave me positive feedback along those lines, but I definitely feel the interview went well, at least in comparison to some of my others.
