I received a mail confirming a decision has been rendered about 8 hours ago. However, when I login on admissions.symplicity or on GIAC Material Status check, I cant find any official communication.
Kindly let me know if something else needs to be done to view the decision. My decision was there when I logged into McCombs connect (symplicity). It wasn't on GIAC. The place to check is here using your UT EID: https://mccombs-utexas-admissions.symplicity.com/? If it doesn't show anything in a couple days I would contact the admissions office to find out. Anyone that has questions for them should ask this week, they announced this on the blog today: The McCombs School of Business and the MBA Program Office will be closed from Friday, December 23, 2011 through Monday, January 2, 2012.

Thanks for your prompt reply. However, on login it shows: "Welcome! You are now logged in. I just spoke with admissions. they said Scholarship information went out last night, so for those of us who only received the general email, I suspect we should assume we aren't getting any funding from UT-Austin.
but, for those who were admitted, at least we have a potential home for Fall 2012! I'm surprised we didn't get more scholarship action posted on GMAT Club for R1 admits...Looks like we had one recorded scholarship post and none in the real time stats. Maybe when some accepted applicants turn down their invitation and scholarship to McCombs we'll see that money trickle down. Anyway, congrats to all that accepted and good luck to everyone still in the hunt.

The interview went something like this: 1. Tell me a bit about yourself and what you have done post-undergraduation. 2. Why MBA? & why Texas MBA? 3. What I plan to do after completing my MBA? 4. What my teammates would say are my 3 strongest points? 5. What were my leadership experiences? 6. Toughest situation I've had to face in a team-environment? 7. What would I define/consider as success? And what would I need to be to consider myself as successful today? 8. How would I contribute to McCombs "after" completing my MBA? 9. Finally, he asked me whether I had any other points I'd like to mention that the interviewer might have missed or I would like to highlight during my interview. 10. Ended with me asking him a couple of q's on his experience at McCombs. Overall, it lasted for about 50mins-1hr - was very conversational and light. He was a current 2'nd year student- it was a Skype interview - so very friendly & casual talk. Just be yourself and don't panic and you'll get through it very well -)

Had my McCombs interview today. I did with an adcom rep here in NYC. The questions were pretty consistent with the posts here. 1. Tell me about yourself and what has lead you to pursuing an mba? 2. Why McCombs? 3. Tell me about a time you resolved a difficult business problem 4. What do you think is the weakest part of your MBA application? - this one was a surprise 5. What is the strongest part of your application? 6. What have you learned about yourself from the MBA application process? 7. Tell me about a time you led a team 8. Tell me about a time you stepped out of your comfort zone.
All in all it went pretty well I think. The conversation was pretty casual with a good deal of back and forth. Good luck to everyone in their interviews.

If there are no updates to your candidacy, please type "not applicable". - A question that basically asked if there's anything else you'd like to tell the admissions committee (I missed the exact wording here - I accidentally submitted it because I thought there might be a space to upload documents like an unofficial GMAT score report, another recommendation, etc. on the next page, but there wasn't) Once you push the forward button on the second page it submits the survey and just redirects you to the site for the MBA Full-Time program.
Congratulations ! A few questions for you : 1. I'm repeating an earlier question: Are you a R1 or R2 applicant ? 2. Also, I heard that in-state tuition applies to any scholarship recipient, is that true ? 3. Did you already send in the deposit before learning about the scholarship or did you wait ?
Thanks and Good Luck !
1. R1 applicant 2. I think that's true, but I'm not positive because I'm technically a Texas resident still - military 3. I found out about the scholarship a couple days after acceptance and then I sent in my deposit
I hope this helps. Good luck to everyone out there!
That definitely helps. One more question: how did you learn about the scholarship - email, telephone call or regular mail ?
prcst - I learned about it from an email at 7pm on 19 Dec (about 20 hours after my acceptance email). I was out of the country without cell phone service, but I came back to a message from 19 Dec saying congratulations and adding that I would be receiving more information about McCombs in a later email. I don't know if she would have mentioned the scholarship had we spoke.
Prabhakar - Thanks. I was definitely lucky and fortunate to get a scholarship. They mentioned they don't give very many; the scholarships they offer range from $2k-$10k/year.

Starting to get nervous about the decision date next week. Good luck to all that applied! The guideline is "the week of the 20th", it was the same in R1. They left the option open to tell you anytime next week, even though in R1 some heard as early as late Friday night the week before. Most if not all people had heard back early that week. No reason to get nervous.

I was admitted in round 1, but have since checked out of this forum so I'm not sure for round 2.
But at least for round 1, admissions were not rolling. If anything, the interview invites were interspersed throughout the round (with seemingly no rhyme or reason as to the timing e.g. invite vs date your turned in your application). However, the decisions all came out on the week they said they would.
