good luck with the HBS interview! I heard from a few students at Haas who applied to HBS and got an interview said that they were just trying to break you down until you had no answer to questions. It was supposedly one of the toughest interviews out of all the top schools. Let us know how it goes!

According to Sandy at the BW forums, HBS is already at the halfway mark for interview invites...

That's what I thought too But apparently, he is a Harvard University (note: not HBS) grad who worked in the ad-com for some top school(s). He is like, the dude on the BW forums. To clarify, I just thought I'll share some information that I found somewhere else. But helg, thanks for reminding me: Information that I bring in here should be credible, and quite frankly, this wasn't. My bad.

No worries. I am anxious about not yet geeting an interview invite too, so I might have taken your post a bit too personal

Ya, i read the same post by Sandy and my reaction was pretty much the same as helg's. Sandy does appear to know what he is talking about, but its hard to imagine that they sent 850 invites in less than 10/11 days.
Also, Dee said on her blog that she will post when they are half way through the interview invites. That hasn't happened.
So, I am inclined to believe, just to keep my own hopes up atleast, that HBS is not done with the invites. Hang in there, everyone.

I Wish everybody good luck for another tense week of waiting for HBS interviews. I believe chances of getting a call are pretty bleak after this week. So crossing my fingers.

I saw this on s2s boards from a reapplicant:
20205.51 in reply to 20205.50 I submitted on 9/30, and still says "submitted". I am a rapplicant, and If I remember correctly, the status will change and say something similar to "under review" once the application enters the review process. We still have till late January to hear back from HBS, unlike Wharton, which is making me nervous with only 7 days left!
Is that true???????????????

It's official. Dee just posted on the HBS blog that they are at the half-way mark with the interview invitation process.
It looks as if we are roughly halfway through the invitation process. We will continue to issue invitations up to and including the notification date, which is January 16, 2008.
Why do the interview invitations slow down from this point on?
In the beginning of each round, all of our resources are deployed to reading applications. Once we begin the actual interviewing (interviews began on November 5) we cannot read at the same pace — hence the slowing down of the invitation rate.
To be clear, there is no order or pattern to which applications are read first.
We hope that bulletins like this are helpful and we sincerely appreciate your patience in this process.

Chances are, some of our apps may not even be read at this point.
