I think there might be movement in the waitlist around Jan 4th since that is the deposit deadline for EA applicants.Good luck to both of you.

Hopefully the wait won't be longer.

Thanks for the heads up! I appreciate the good wishes too.

Crossing my fingers.

Pre777-did you receive any confirmation after e-mailing that you wish to be added to the waitlist and are still interested, etc.? I have not yet

Nothing yet. I haven't received any emails from UNC, I only know I am waitlisted because I checked my status on their application page.

mdlindsa - what year did you graduate from chapel hill, and were you a business major? I graduated undergrad from there in '07.

I'm also wondering if anyone out there knows how long it takes to receive an interview invite - I submitted part I on nov. 30, and finished part 2 on the 12/4 deadline. I haven't received an invite yet, is it too late already?

I did graduate in '07, but I was not a business major. I was good friends with a lot of them though.

I'm pretty sure I got an invite before I even submitted Part 1 of the application...it said something like "you can choose your interview date as soon as you submit Part 1". But that might be an early action thing. It didn't seem like anything special, I hardly had any information in the application at all except for my first gmat score which was awful.

hi wmcrockett!
I'm also still waiting for my interview invite (if any). I submitted part 1 and 2 last Dec 4.
Did you hear anything from admissions? Do you know until when they'll be extending invites? I'm international by the way.
I heard they'll be interviewing 90% of applicants so I hope we'll be part of that...
What's your profile?

hi vanilla,

i still haven't heard anything from admissions yet, other than that all parts of my application have been received and are ready for review.
my profile:
3.38 gpa, unc-kenan flagler
710 gmat
2 years at hsbc, management training (company was closed down in april 09)
1 year exp mortgage banker for a local company
decent community service and leadership activities during and after college, but nothing spectacular

it sounds like a lot of people have already gotten interview invites, which has me worried - hopefully it'll be coming soon!

Not sure where you heard that.During my chat with adcom,I was told they plan to interview 50-60% of applicants this year.

Hey mates,
I got confused with the essay question #4.
Kenan-Flager has five core values: excellence, leadership, integrity, community and teamwork. If you could add one value what would it be and why? Be sure to explain how you have lived this value.

Does it ask what I could add as the number 6? Or, does it ask which one of the five core values I could INCREASE the value?

Thank you.

@yuskay,

Adcom wants us to tell another core value that we wish to add to the list (6th one). Adcom made it clear in one of the online chats, transcript of which is available on their web.

Wow! Are you sure they plan to interview only half the applicants? In the past they used to inverview 90%. On the other hand, they have about 8 staff members interviewing people, so from that standpoint it does make sense to interview only half of the people.
What bothers me is my application status: inder a review. I interviewed last week on campus and I gave them a transcript that never made it to my file, so she did tell me that is everything. Ten days latter, and my application is still not "done". I don't understand. I don't want to be a pest, so I will wait to bug them about this after holidays.

I'm a reapplicant to KFBS and a little confused about how to approach my essays. Since the application requires that reapplicants denied admission last year re-submit all essays I'm wondering if I should write totally new essays or work on what I submitted last year. Any ideas on how other reapplicants approached their application will be much appreciated.

I got an interview invite for the Dec 4 deadline if someone wants to update the roll call page. It's not scheduled until Jan 19, so I guess I have some time to prep. I haven't visited campus before so I'm going to do the class visit, student lunch and tour as well while I'm down there.

Did anyone receive the admit package? I still did not get it even though I stay next to NC.

I did receive an email asking for feedback on the package.

"Under review" status was due to unofficial GMAT scores, because the official score was sent after Dec 4th deadline. An email to the admission office and they said that they will use my unofficial score, which in turn changed the status of my application to "things missing" but it doesn't say what is missing. Grrrr.

I called the adcom office today to ask what is going on. I talked to the records office and he said that they do not have official transcript from a foreign university that I attened long time ago and never graduated. He said that my application is fine, it is ready to be reviewed by adcom. If I am admitted, then I will need to produce an official transcript (or not).

He also said that adcom is not really reviewing R1 application yet! They may start doing that next week or so That's surprising. That doesn't leave them a lot of time to read all essays, connect the dots, make admission decisions and notify applicants by Feb 8th. Although, adcom admitted 5% drop in applications this season during one of their chats in December.

The wait begins....
