1. What are the 2 or 3 strengths or characteristics that have driven your career success thus far? Do you have other strengths that you would like to leverage in the future? (Max 500 words)
2. Briefly describe the career path you intend to pursue immediately after b-school. Explain why this career option appeals to you and why an MBA is appropriate at this time. (Max 500 words)
3. What personal qualities or life experiences distinguish you from other applicants? How do these qualities or experiences equip you to contribute to Kenan-Flagler? (Max 500 words)
4.Kenan-Flagler has five core values: excellence, leadership, integrity, community and teamwork. If you could add one value what would it be and why? Be sure to explain how you have lived this value. (Max 300 words)
Anyway, yes the interviews are by invite only this year. Last year anyone could interview. I guess its because of the changing face of the economy and Kenan Flagler having a lot more applicants now......
My questions is, when the economy gets back on its feet in 5 years, and it will, will Kenan Flagler pay for this when the number of applicants go back to normal, and it will go back to normal.....

Need Advice on Preview UNC Kenan-Flagler Day - August 1st [#permalink]
FYI for those who are applying to UNC Kenan Flagler, their Preview Kenan Flagler Day which is usually in the Fall will be on August 1st this year. It is very early this year for some reason. I was going to ask bb and some others with tons of knowledge here some advice if I may. I went to this event last year at UNC and connected with many in the admissions office as well as many current students (many who will be there again at the event). I am feeling some anxiety about going again this year because I did not get accepted last year and I don't want to look like "that guy" - or come across as needy, intense, nuts, whatever. I really don't know what to do and I just wanted to see what you guys thought before I drove all the way down there (4 hours) and dropped $150 bucks on a hotel for two nights. Should I go? What more can I really learn? Lol, would they say - hey what is that guy doing here again this year?
Maybe I am over thinking it......
Thanks for your help.

If I were you,I would attend. It shows that I'm still interested in their program. It will benefit me when I apply provided I show that I gained something new since the reject.

Class of 2012, did you get rejected also last year? That makes me feel a lot better if other re-applicants are going. I hope to see you there.....
P.S. Wonder why it is so early this year?
No.
Since this early, would they be able to get current students available for the preview weekend? Most of them might be in internships unless many choose Raleigh/Charlotte.

I agree....I talked to a couple of the current students that I had met and both were surprised PKF was this early. Both were also on their internships and will not make it.....Maybe it was because of budget concerns? State government here in NC has taken a hit.
Also, last year it was all at the McColl Building, or main campus, this year the event is divided into two locations.
Hope to see you there....

The best part was meeting current students and getting an "unscripted" feel for the school. I love the facilities at UNC as well as the curriculum they offer. The Global Business Project opportunity looks like a lot of fun. If you have any specific questions I'll try to answer them from what I can remember.
They also gave us the new essays questions, and surprise they actually changed the questions from last year. So I guess that gives us a 2 week head start.

Do you mind sharing those essays? Also what did the current students say about the employment scenario?

As soon as I get home and find my notes I'll post the essays. I think the one new one was something like:
there are 5 core values at KF if you could add a 6th what would it be and why?
And the employment numbers:
Career center said 70% with FT offers class of 2009 96% of class of 2010 secured an internship
Student I spoke with said that although some people had to change their internship preference almost everyone got an internship and that KF did a great job of reaching out to new employers to find them internships. So I thought that was positive.
