when did you interview?

think it might happen on a slight rolling with majority our on the 6th (pure speculation)

I don't think most decisions come early, although they seemed pretty informal about making the offer early, so who knows. Good luck!

Also, whats your secret? 680/3.4 and full ride offer the next day? Did you cure cancer?

I am jealous!

lol - no matter how many times people say it - no one wants to accept that 780 gmat is not the holy grail.
680ish to 740ish checks the same box. My 680 is 80 something percentile - which if you think about it, means it was higher than 80 something percent of the people that took the GMAT. That's good enough for most schools. GPA - squeaked a cum laude (no high honors) but that's while completing requirements for 2 majors, a minor and some other work in 4 years.

It truly is the whole picture. Plus, i think it might help that i'm not the "consultant who wants to go into banking".

My friend got a full ride to MIT last year with a 650. scores are not end all be all (granted it is rarer when you get to the 610's and such.

Anyway, no - i didn't cure cancer - i think I just have a really good case for "why mba".

Some advice i got from an alumni once is to remember b-school is a business - their goal is to make sure they bring in people who can get hired and who might possibly go on to be important in the business world - just keep that in mind when you write your essays and present your case.

That is true, but those people with the 600s full-ride at good schools are rarely, if ever, white males like myself. Anyway, congrats and good luck on your outstanding apps.

got admitted but without $. To all the Indian folks - according to you, which business school in India is at par with KF? which Indian schools, if any, do you think are better than KF?

If you go by the rankings, then only ISB and IIM-A are above KF.
What other schools are you talking about?

Of the likes of IIM K, I, S, MDI, NITIE etc?

Would it be wise to let ISB go on the off chance that i may get selected to UNC..!!

Just a quick question...My interview is scheduled day after tomorrow.

Does KF conducts blind interview in which interviewer knows you in capacity of your CV? Do you think have they gone through your applications and essays?

As this is my first interview, any formal/informal advices would be highly appreciated.

It is a blind interview and they will just have your resume.
You can go through a post where I have compiled all the debriefs.
That should help.

Let me know if you need anything specific.

All the best!

3. what are your short term and long term goals?
4. how did u manage people in your Ops role? Leadership question
5. what has been your pinnacle in Sales role ? Achievement
6. How do you de-stress yourself since Sales is a hectic role?
7. Some discussion on Swimming and football ( my extra curricular)

All in all it was a great experience, this was my first interview for a B-school abroad and i thoroughly enjoyed it. She was very friendly .
GMAT score ( comparing with fellow Indians) and applying in R3 can be my nemesis. Still hoping for some magic on 16th March.

Just finished my interview with Virginia Gilbert from the adcom of Kenan-Flagler. A very nice and conversational interview. I have provided a few questions below for other applicants.

1) Tell me about your experiences at your undergraduate college
2) What did you do after college and why did you pick a particular company
3) Why did you shift companies
4) What is the team structure and how many people you lead
5) Tell me about your travel experiences
6) I see you play guitar .. what do you like to play
7) Any questions for me?

Can someone please inbox me a sample thank you note. This was my first skype interview and would like to send her a note.

43 degrees and foggy in Chapel Hill right now for fellows visit weekend. Beats the -19 degrees that I was in yesterday by a lot.

Speaking of which, thought folks might want to know that they mentioned that apps for the 2015 intake were up 25% over last year. And that apps for last year were up 28% over the year before that. Which means apps are up something close to 60% compared to two years ago. (That's quite a striking number!)

I'm quite certain that ASW is open for all students. For internationals, the challenge might be in getting visa earlier and accommodating some more living costs.
