Got this email from UNC today:
Greetings from UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School!
Thank you for applying to our full time MBA program. As you know, deadline 1 application decisions will be released on Monday, December 15, 2008.
You will receive an email when your decision is available; this email will include a link for you to view your online decision letter. Decisions will be available on-line no later than 5:00 pm. If your mailing address has changed, please let me know as soon as possible. If your mailing address is correct, please DO NOT respond to this email.
Did anyone else also get it? I am an EA applicant and finished my interview on 11/3.

RF refurb - i talked to a guy that i think was VP of finance in the health care club. he was a pretty nice guy, i'd recommend trying him if you have problems. i feel like like he took a pharma offer too if memory serves me right. i have a card if you can't find info, just pm me.

It is binding just like Columbia's ED...but I wanted to wait and see if I make it, hence did not withdraw.
Also, Duke does not ask you to withdraw when you accept even though they state this expressly on their deadline portion of their website.

The way I understand it, after you ACCEPT the EA offer from Duke/UNC, then it's binding. In the meantime, I guess you're free to apply elsewhere... but isn't the acceptance deadline pretty soon (i.e. before the deadline to Kellogg)?

I'm in too! I'm really excited and I'm already looking forward to starting B-School in Chapel Hill next year.
Did anyone who was accepted today get a merit scholarship? When does UNC typically award its merit scholarships for those who applied during EA/ Round 1?

Congrats to all the admits for ED! I just did my on-campus interview yesterday (woohoo, 18.5 hours in a car over the weekend to make it happen!). KFBS looks awesome and the students and staff seemed very friendly. My interview was pretty good, we developed a rapport very quickly. We ended up chatting for 45 minutes, which I took as a good sign. He definitely sold me on the school, let's just hope I did the same. February 7th can't come soon enough. Oh, and one nugget he told me: applications are up, but only for domestic applicants. Internationals, specifically Indians, have drastically fallen.

I can understand apps are up for domestic applicants. Job market and layoffs can be said to be one good reason. But I wonder why Indians are not applying. I know that loans are difficult to get this year..But will that lead them to fall drastically..I am myself an Indian, so less competition is better !!
