CyberC1,
Thanks for the insights. Do you think brand management & marketing is strong at Marshall comparing to other schools at the same tier? Right now I am facing the choice between Marshall and Georgetown. I know I am leaning towards Marshall but would like to collect more information before the final decision. I checked the employment report online. It only has general information but doesn't offer more details about marketing field. Would you shed more light on the marketing field? What's your viewpoint on the current career landscape for marketing field? I am a career switcher from engineering to marketing. So it's top of my concerns. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I am going to attend the admit weekend and plan to stay longer than two days to look for housing/apt.
Do you think it's a good idea to start searching at this time? Would it be too early? Any advice about location?

Hey folks, information for you all...
Admit Weekend is
April 27-28. It is a blast (I should know, I'm helping out with the planning). Looking forward to seeing you guys on campus!
I went around and met the other GMATClub members in the incoming class last year during admit weekend - totally worth it to have a network already in place when you get there. You won't find everyone, but it definitely helps to put a face to a username.
Regarding rankings... you'll find similar opportunities at the schools especially if you're a capable/competent person (which I am assuming everyone is). To really figure out the differences in rankings you'd have to dig into their ranking methodology. It may have to do with the fact that a lot of USC MBAs start their own business so the starting salary figure is depressed. It could be that the majority of our students also go into brand management/marketing which has lower comparative salaries, thus also depressing the ranking (by choice rather than by design). There are a number of legitimate reasons why the rankings might be lower. Now if rankings included how many times USC Marshall has won case competitions over top 10 teams you'd see a marked shift...
