I actually visited the school last week and based on the feedback from some of the current students, I would almost suggest doing an alum interview. The current students said the alum interviews were usually more informal, while the on campus interview could get more tough. You might want to post this on their S2S site as well.

I agree with mba2010...I spoke with some friends who are first years at Wharton. One shared vchhaochharia's concerns the other interviewed with the adcom at the Mumbai hub. Your call, I'm going with an alumnus just because Wharton won't be coming to India until the end of this month. What are you putting in the personal message box? Oh and I don't know if anyone cares but Happy Diwali...my first Diwali in India and I couldn't sleep because people kept bursting firecrackers all night, they're still at it at 8am. But there are lots of sweets so it's ok :-D .

At this stage, I'm getting a lot more prepared for Chicago/Wharton dings. esp. after reading the debate in the BW forums over Sandy's claims that 80% HBS invites are out and 25% W invites go out in last 10-14 days.

This was just posted by the Director of Admissions at Wharton on the s2s forum (I'm assuming it wasn't some jokester pretending to be him):

All:

Please try to relax... There is much reading still to do before the November 15th deadline.

Because each file is read by a GA, an AdComm, and myself, the process can take some time. The date your application is complete has nothing to do with when you will get an IV (please refer to FanaticalFan's excellent posts on this subject).

My advice? Go out and enjoy your weekend. Mine will be spent in the office with our hard-working AdComms poring over files!

Woah! 19 applicants and just 3 invites! Given that Wharton interviews 50 - 60% of its applicants, I would've thought we GMATClubers would get more invites...

Almost got a heart attack today when I saw an email from Wharton. Unfortunately, it was just propaganda for their doctorate program in applied economics.

The same thing happened to me when I got a mail from LBS. Turned out to be a survey :shock: ...I'm still waiting for my interviewer to return from vacation. Hopefully I'll be able to post a debrief later this week.

In fact I got that survey as well. Both at the same time.My heart ventricles almost collapsed...
