Thanks CPANoMore! That's exactly what I have been trying to clarify. S2S was probably the appropriate forum to ask this question.

The email says that I will receive my notification BY 5 PM. Does not say that ALL results will be released ON Dec 17

Yes - all results (admit, deny, waitlist) will be on Dec 17. I'm thinking around noonish - judging from last year!

Re: Calling all Wharton 2011 Applicants [#permalink]
Just completed my interview on campus. I feel like it went very well, I know I got a 4 on at least one of the questions.

My interviewer was a bit late, so I actually heard another applicant's complete interview. I don't know if anyone else had this experience, but the area that they interview in has really thin doors and you can hear everything.

From what I heard, everyone gets the same three questions listed here and on clear admit. My interview actually started with a mini resume review, why MBA, why now intro. My interviewer didn't write anything down from that part, but it certainly set a good tone for the rest of the interview.

In order, I got, tell me when you worked toward a goal and had to consider others opinions, tell me when you worked on a team without a clear leader, and tell me when you worked to convince someone when at first there was push back for your ideas.

I guarantee the story the I told for the second question was unlike anything they had heard before. Apparently a good thing because 2-3 sentences into the story I saw them write "4" at the bottom of the page.

We had a really good conversation, the follow up questions were well thought through and showed they were listening, not just robotically copying. There was some note taking but really equal to or less than the note taking during my booth interview (also on campus).

Now for the final wait! :)

Had the same experience with waiting for my interviewer to show up and hearing someone else interview.

Didn't get a peek at any of my scores though...lucky you!

Aye - didn't notice the scores.

~50 interviews today and ~100 last Friday is what the nice lady told me when I got there if anyone is interested.

I believe last year some people got calls the day/night before the deadline, but I haven't checked last year's thread.

From S2S:

All Wharton decisions are released simultaneously (regardless of outcome).

The wording allows for the possibility of the decision release date being moved up if processing goes super smoothly, but the normal course of events is that they are released on the scheduled day.

wo, I assume you mean interview on campus. What a large pool of interviewees, which could translate into a lower acceptance rate after interview.

Yeah - those refer to on campus interviews. My response was "wow" also. It's only 2 data-points so it really means nothing except to those who like to speculate on numbers... but still.

Re: Calling all Wharton 2011 Applicants [#permalink]
Question of the day:

What are people planning to do in terms of round 2 applications if they applied in round 1 and have had 1 or 2 interviews?

a. Assume you'll get into at least one school and wait until you hear from all schools before starting round 2 applications or communicating with recommenders.
b. Start round 2 applications now (except essays), but stop short of asking for additional recommendations.
c. Fully commit to round 2 applications (including essays), but stop short of asking for additional recommendations.
d. Assume you won't get into the schools you've interviewed with and fully commit to round 2 applications (including essays) and ask people for additional recommendations.
e. None of the above.

Thoughts?

I've fully committed to R2 applications, complete with recommendations. My essays are still in the works as many of the schools are due in early January so I've still got some time. I'm more hedging my bets at this point in case R1 turns out poorly. *comee onnnnn Wharton!*

This is smart. Proceed as if you had been rejected in Round 1. An interview invite does not mean an admit, and you want to have as much time as you need for your Round 2 apps. Your insights from round 1 spiced up with a sense of humility can actually make for great Round 2 essays. If you get in, great, you can save $ and not submit R2, but if you end up rejected or wait-listed AND unprepared, you will have little time and lots of regrets.

I'm in the same boat. I'm tentatively thinking of just applying to Columbia for the time being, and then getting the rest of round 2 done really quickly if need be. Maybe not the smartest strategy, but I'm burned out!

I made my recommenders aware of my rd2 schools but told them to hold off until middle of Dec. I will start brainstorming for my essays from now till decision dates mid-Dec. I won't start drafting them until after... so hopefully if I get into a rd1 school, then I'm all set; if not, then I'll have to finish those rd2 apps.

On the side note, so from P&Qs, there was approx 900 invites for rd1. Assume that 40% apply to rd1 (with an estimated 7000 apps this year), that means roughly 32% of the people from rd1 were invited for an interview. So good news if you were one of those folks that got the invite. I speculate that from there apprx 50% of the 32% will get a final acceptance (resulting in the expected 16% acceptance rate).

bottomline: just think of your next hurdle rate is at 50% (not 40%, not 30%) to get in.

I am unable to find the email id of the adcom member who interviewed me, so am unable to send out a thank you note. Any ideas about what to do or anyone else facing the same problem?
