Re: Calling all Wharton Fall 09 Applicants [#permalink]
Just got my interview offer a little while ago as well (basically the exact same time as Mikus). Too bad I now have to schedule an alumni interview with someone over a 10 hour bus ride away.

I submitted my app on 10/1, so it seems as if the correlation of earlier submission to earlier interview offer is definitely true. Therefore, I'm sure there are many more interview offers to come on this board.

I submitted mine super early, around 9/20...so this probably isn't a good sign for me :(

My guess is that there are various teams of readers, so it really has a lot to do with your particular team and not just when you submitted. I am trying to keep calm...

I don't think it really matters when you get the invite...just as long as you get one :)

I'm not going to panic until 11/9...if I haven't heard by then O_o

Is there a way to know from the adcoms whether a particular application has already been sidelined for a ding? This wait is making me crazy. Though I have few other interview invites(Tuck, Tepper) but Wharton is my top priority. A year's hard work is about to go down the drains :-(

Not before the end of the review period. Hold out some hope, they can always send an interview invite on the last day :)

I know what you mean about going crazy!!! :scared
I was checking my mail + gmatclub + s2s + BW forum every 20 minutes or so... now that I know some people have received invites, the insane checking has gone down to every 5 minutes!!!!!! :yikes

And yeah.... a whole year of studying, writing apps, stressing, not sleeping enough, not going out.... and no invites from any of the schools I applied to as of yet!!! I should apply to other schools for R2.... :?

Any October 9 submitters received interview calls ? I submitted Wharton R1 on Oct 9, 1 hour before deadline. It went complete I think in 3-4 days (Oct 12-13). Haven't heard anything yet.

I submitted. But again, it does not matter when you submit. When it goes complete is what matters. There are people who submitted on 9th and their apps got complete on 11th to 15th and then there are people like me who got complete on the 23rd...

MADE AN EDIT: from did to submitted

For those worried about invites don't do so just yet. Last year, for Wharton, the vast majority of invites came on week 2 / close to last day of deadline. Also early interview invites don't really mean anything. Last year I was one of the earliest to get interview invites from Chicago (in R2) but I was also one of the first to get dinged. Stats suggest Wharton interviews about 40%.

BSD, do you remember from last year's thread if there were a flood of interviews initially, or were invites sent out at a consistent rate throughout the invitation period?

From what I remember a vast majority of them came out on the last two-three days. Dings were the last thing that came out (that part I remember well ..).

To quantify - there were only about 3 interview invites till the 9th of November. The vast majority came out on the 13,14,15th november - we had over 10 ppl who got interview invites.
