Quick question, guys. Since Wharton asks for two recommendations (preferably supervisors) which combination would be better: 1. Current Supervisor from Current Employer 2. Current Director (supported me through entrepreneurial and leadership stuff at current employer) above my Supervisor. or 1. Current Director (supported me through entrepreneurial and leadership stuff at current employer) above my Supervisor. 2. Former non profit Executive Director (and former direct supervisor) who saw me establish a new branch for the non-profit and really add value to small businesses for the last 3 years. Thanks in advance!

I like the second one better, it provides another dimension to your profile.

Another thought to consider . . . how reliable do you think your former supervisor would be in terms of meeting the deadline? I've tracked down several former supervisors for recs but now they're doing a good job of avoiding me At least with your current supervisors, you can remind them in person.

I have never had that problem with her (committing to something and not meeting the commitment). I will be reminding my recommenders once a week for good measure. I am giving mine only 2 schools for the first round and the one that ends up without a second essay will only have a one page thing left for HBS.

Sounds like you've got a good plan. One of the main reasons I cut down from six Round 1 apps down to three was knowing that it was going to be hard getting the recommendations. I had the bright idea of spreading out the second recommendation among three former supervisors so no one person was too burdened. It seemed smart at first but now I'm trying to get in touch with/remind three people with very different schedules. Plus, my current supervisor was not too excited when I asked him to write five or six recommendations Hopefully, there's a lot of overlap.

Does anyone have the list of Wharton electives? I swore I saw it online before, but with the new format, I can't find anything.

I had a quick question for re-applicants:
Essay2 (failure essay) is the same as last year's. It was probably my best essay and a "failure" that had a really good ending. Can I use the same story with changes to how its written and add in any developments over the year or do I have to think of a new failure that has occurred over the last year?
Thanks for any advice in advance.

Thanks for any advice in advance. If I was in your shoes, I would use the same one. If it is a good essay, it is a good essay. Plus, it may be somewhat awkward to share two different failures.

Thanks for any advice in advance. Reapplying works better with totally new essays - it is a chance to show a new you/personal profile that is more appealing to the adcom (i.e. a better fit) than the old image you created last time.

Gunning for Round 1 here - if the GMAT is not up to par by the deadline, I will roll to Round 2.

Hey Guys
I am filling out the Wharton application and it is asking for "Native Langauge" I was born in India but all my education including undergrauduate education happened in English langauge. Again, i am not sure most of the indians can say their native langauge is English. Do you think i require to have TOEFL score.
In the application requirement section it says "All international applicants whose native language (language first learned and spoken at home) is not English, or who did not complete a degree from an institution where English was the language of instruction, are required to take the TOEFL in addition to the GMAT."
The thing to note is the connecting word is "or" meaning if either of the condition is met you are required to give TOEFL? Any guidance please
