longatum,

can you post a debrief of your interview? E.g. questions asked, tone of the interview, etc?

Thanks!

Has anyone heard anything re: decision for R2? I interviewed on the 24 at Yale and had a really good time. Loved the school and the people there and my interviewer, a really friendly guy, wrote a (personalized with details from the interview) thank-you note to me before I could write him. I wrote back, but haven't heard from anything from them since.

Now that I think about it... I was really hoping that the thank-you note was a personal touch that the interviewer did only to someone he liked, not as a procedural thing... Is that the case? or did everyone who interviewed there get a similar note?

I'm a Vietnamese applicant. 27 yr old. GMAT: 750. GPA: subpar from top liberal arts college. WE: 2.5 yrs in financial services/ibanking (1 yr in no-name boutique in NYC and the rest in Hanoi, Vietnam) at matriculation.

hey everyone - I am fairly new to this forum (I'm usually on the BW forum). I received an interview invite on 1/17. Submitted the app on 1/8. My interview is scheduled for next week and I'm looking forward to it.

Hey nervousgmat,

I see that you received your invite in late Dec... and you still haven't had your interview?

Anyhow, the interview I had was pretty straightforward. Mostly resume-based. The interviewer (a 2nd-year student) asked me to walk him through it, then focused on the points that he found interesting. The only non-resume question that I can remember is "How would your manager describe you"... and I think my answer to that sucked, mehehe.

The interview was really friendly. We joked and laughed a lot in the beginning before getting to the serious stuff and he managed to add a lot to my fondness of the school although the interview lasted only 30mins.

I think all interviews will be conducted more or less as such (resumed-based). Several guys who interviewed the same day with me had similar experiences. And interviews don't go much beyond half an hour. You are questioned for some 20-25mins then you can question them.

Hope this helps and best of luck.

longatum, I submitted my application at the end of December. My invite came in some time at mid-end January. I had to reschedule my interview due to work-related conflicts.
Thank you for the debrief. It was very helpful.

Ok,

I just got invited to an interview at Yale on the 12th of February. I submitted my app in Dec so all of you worried about the invites, they actually do extend invites this late!

I was certain I would not be invited. Good news eh?

That's great, defenestrate! Congrats~!
Have you scheduled your interview yet?
Maybe you could share with people still waiting for their invites how many slots were available to interview on-campus when you scheduled yours.

My profile

white 31 at matriculation B.A. English B.S. theatre at little known university. Fulbright fellow to Russia where I subsequently worked and studied for around 6 yrs Диплом from the Moscow Art Theatre School in directing. I am a freelance theatre director.

GMAT 690 Q 47 V 38 AWA 6.0

My profile is a little odd. When I put in my interview there were still a bunch of interviews left stretching out until march 5th. I will interview on the 28th of Feb.

a FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR  , mate that alone is worth its weight in gold. These ad-coms love prestigious awards. A friend of mine who's also a fulbright scholar is in HBS at the moment.

If I were to tell you all the schools that have already dinged me then you might not agree that the fulbright is worth its weight in gold!

I wish that were so, but not likely.
