I need some help here. I have a few waitlist questions for those who have been accepted/rejected from round 1 waitlist and anyone with insights into Booth waitlist procedures.

A. Does anyone know if it's possible to get off of the waitlist at any time between now and 5/13? Or does adcom only examine waitlisted candidates only after 5/1?

B. Does anyone have any insights into whether the waitlist candidates are ranked or separated in the queue? Or is everyone in the same big ambiguous bucket?

C. Does anyone know if in addition to the generic admissions email alias if there are any other resources for waitlisted candidates? i.e. there is a specialized "waitlist coordinator" at Booth or a number to call?

D. Based on prior year's acceptance and yield rates and this year's forum posting, would anyone care to guesstimate how many people are in the total waitlist (for rd 1 and rd2) and how many spots will eventually open up?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

A) My conversation with my adcom interviewer the other day indicated to me that we are "safe" through the May 1 deadline. No one should be coming or going until then, but then the goal is to "get people off the waitlist as soon as possible."

B) I have no idea

c) I don't know this one either

D) Impossible to know. Clearly far more people were waitlisted (from GMATClub) in R2 than R1, this could be for a number of reasons. I'm taking this as a second chance, and an further evidence that I have to put my best foot forward to have a shot.

Good luck, but not too much, eh? ;-)

I applied for R3 and just got an email about an event this Friday. I assume everyone who applied got the email. It seems kind of like late notice.

Did everyone get this letter? Do you think it will hurt my chances not getting in?

Thank! I know that there is Indianapolis near Chicago with a great motortrack
Anyway, I think it will be cheaper to buy it there

Great stuff and great profile pic walker. The very best from all of us at gmatclub whom you have helped so selflessly. Other schools have no idea what they have missed out on and Chicago has found itself a hidden diamond. You will have an absolute blast at Chicago. I know many students there from my visit last year and have a lot of respect and love for the place. Who knows I might join you as an exchange student over there :)

Thanks for your warm words! I'm really appreciated. It was a long run with a pretty good end and there is a lot of interesting stuff ahead! You are a bright example for me as for many how not to give up and keep fighting! Finally we have learned a lot from each other to be stronger and we will be a good representatives of our schools.

Hey, Walker! I glad to see you going to Booth. I hope you'll be successful on your way :)
Despite the fact I failed to come in I'm happy that you're there. Pass my regards to your family

Unfortunately, I will not be going. I was originally planning to go since a friend working for an airline could have gotten me a cheap, albeit roundabout, ticket. I have decided it's better for me to just wrap up all the loose ends here and be prepared to fly over in early Aug. Looking forward to seeing all of you in Aug/Sep though.

Details below. Kwam is setting it up (see admitted to Booth thread) and you'll need to RSVP with him. Hope to see you there.
