Ok, thanks guys. I have now incorporated that portion into my first essay but am now at 782 words. Need to trim it down some more. Thankfully, Im a consultant and not billable this week, so have the time between today and tomorrow.

You can go over the 750 words. Roughly 10% is the guide. I think my essay #1 was 807 or something like that. I don't feel as bad for the Chicago adcoms because they only have to read two essays. Plus, they directly state that everything will be printed out and placed in your file, which would make counting words much, much more time consuming than actually reading 2 or 3 more sentences. I did submit essay #2 at about 1020 words or so.

yea no school counts words. An extra 30 words is 1 or 2 more sentences. You will not be faulted or even noticed for that matter.

Regarding the standard resume that needs to be submitted, are you guys submitting a pdf or word? I couldn't find any instructions saying either/or, but now I'm probably just freaking out coz we so close to the deadline. I'm thinking pdf should be fine, right?
Good luck to everyone!

Essay #1 is done here. I just need to add that witty one-liner at the end that the Adcom is supposed to remember you by. I'll probably pass on mentioning how much I'm gonna miss LA. On to the Powerpoint.

How did everyone incorporate your learnings into your essays? Or did you not do so? I realize I am missing that component in my two essays. But I feel if I add it now, it will make seem forced and ofcourse, I have to worry about word limits too.

Jb and others - Do you know if your recommenders pasted their LOR into a text box, or if they had to upload a Word/PDF attachment with the LOR?

Good luck to everyone! pdf should be fine. i'm using word but that's just b/c it's easier The only reason I don't want to use word is because word could sometime screw up the formatting. In case of the essay, that shouldn't make much of a difference, but a resume could look BAD if the formatting gets screwed up. It's the same reason why I am submitting the ppt as pdf. I was initially using a transparent image as background in the ppt (dropped the idea now), but when I opened it from my office PC to edit, the transparent image which I had designed at home became opaque and you could barely read the text on the slide. Now, if I had only seen this at home, I would never have realized that. Long story short - I suggest use pdf when uploading the powerpoint.

Also, everyone who is applying, we should have them set up together. terp06, you can edit your first post on the first page to include everyone so we can see everyone's status when interview invites/admissions decisions start rolling along. As an example, please see: 103-t48955Based on what I've seen so far (and we can finalize this list Oct 16th) R1 jlola21 - Submitted 10/12 zhl226 - Submitted 10/15 terp06 jb32 hsampath - Submitted 10/15 Tarmac - Submitted 10/15 gt7er ac8706 terp26 sonibubu MattG2185 yellowjacket - Submitted 10/15 jigar34 MeddlingKid cougarblue - Submitted 10/15 icon I'm sure I've missed some people. So please update this list guys.
