I retook the test, improved my score, and resubmitted to be considered with R3. Maybe because of the initial R1 application they were able to get back to me earlier... ?

i hope u get in. gmat is a stupid category for admissions. anybody read the data released by gmac for gmat before 09? A 45Q used to be 89%. Now it's 66%. Harvard and wharton has been accepting people with 45Q for years and they end up doing fine. So why fuss over people getting X gmat score. it's silly to me. [/quote] moreover, 20 years ago or so, the gmat wasn't required! so, business people whom at their late forties or early fifties nowadays are actually got their MBAs at Harvard, Stanford, INSEAD, wharton, and all the other top schools without having GMAT, yet, they did well and doing well. we're all know that reality and business battles are completely different experiences than classes. I believe it pure business for them to require test scores since it generates lots of money for companies and for business schools themselves (tests content mostly written by professors and researchers who teach MBAs and they got decent pay by Pearson and ETS) it is all about business.

i would say another reason business schools (any university in general) love standardized tests is to improve marketability of the school. as much hard work you do to market yourself to the school, the school probably works 2-3 times has hard to prove to the world that it indeed is one of the top business schools in the world. say, i had tons of money and i build this amazing state of the art facility with all the modern amenities you can possibly imagine and i say i am able to pay few Harvard, London, INSEAD educated faculties to come teach for me. if i don't prove to you somehow that your classmates are even more awesome than you, neither you will bother applying to my school, nor would recruiters would come to recruit. in fact, it is probably a harder sell to recruiters. especially when the market is so saturated with so many good schools. so point is GMAT (and standardized tests) are necessary evil that's here to stay.

Hey guys, long time lurker decided to get involved.
Got my interview invite this morning by email, I'm just a regular R3 applicant so no special situation like LSSMBA above. Hopefully that means the rest of you guys should be hearing soon!
I'm sure somebody will ask - I applied a few weeks before the deadline - so maybe they're doing it bit by bit.

nominomi i was thinking about the same thing. but, i guess the only purpose the etheryl website serves is to inform if you have submitted all components of your application. the potential interview invitation, admit offer or any other communication after you have submitted your application happens only through emails and phone calls. 20, April is still two weeks away. i know the feeling, but there is nothing you can do at the moment. do you know any alumni local to where you live? do you have to travel far if you get the interview invite?

BTG current applicant statistics says there are 7 submitted applications in round3. How many of you have updated your profile on that board?

No deadline date yet - nor for that matter any interviewers either The email just says your application has been processed and you have been selected for interview now please wait while they arrange interviewers in your country.

that's interesting.. i was under the assumption that they will get all the interviewer information before sending out the emails. now I know that someone is just reading my essays and pulling his/her hair apart.
