there is language in there that says you may have to defer your MBA for a year if the sponsoring company wants you to do a 1-year internship.

Hi Kryzak, yes I did see that clause. My confusion was whether it will be a summer or 1 yr internship - if so which company.
Just wondering how to pen down 'how the P4D will help me' without knowing the details of the intetnship -

yeah, that I don't know either, which is why I'm not applying... these are my reasons:
1. They're asking more for underrepresented minorities (African, Hispanic, and Native Americans - maybe women), even though they open it to anyone who can bring valuable "diversity" to the school.
2. The company and internship length are unknown. I'd rather not deal with this type of uncertainty
3. I really don't feel like writing another 500 word essay, especially since I spent 3 pages talking about diversity in "What Matters Most" and I don't know whether I can reuse that or not.
4. At first I thought it was a full scholarship, but after I found out it was an internship, I didn't see the value in applying to this one compared to other internships I could be doing, especially in entrepreneurship or VC.
Hope that makes sense

What do you think, guys? What are those seven pages in total? Woody or wordy? Nick
Hi Kryzak,
How did you address this issue?

That is something I wish I knew the answer to. Do they actually take a ruler out and measure what fraction of a page you used in one essay and apply that to another one if you don't use up a full page? If anyone knows or has called the admissions office about this, please let us know. Thanks!

What I know about P4D from the AO in charge of diversity recruiting:
-Last year only Eli Lily participated
-It was a one year internship then your two years of business school are paid for
-You did not have to return to Eli Lily post-graduation
Suppossovely they are revamping it, but who knows. Hope this helps.

Kryzak,
In Educational History section of the application there is a phrase "International students should list the names and dates of all schools and degrees in the original language". What does it mean? Shall we list the names of our institutions/ universities in our native language: arabic, cyrillic, sanscrit, chineese?

OK. Out of curiosity, how many times has your "what matters most..." essay changed significantly?
I'm at about 5.
Sweet.

Hi Nick,
Sorry, no idea since I'm not an international student. You should call the admissions office.

Essays need some final revision. Got some great comments from some GSB alums. Otherwise, I hope to submit Friday (and hope my recommenders do so too!)
Maybe I should check out the diversity event...
