Congrats grad_mba! I'm almost there... 2 more days. Waiting for my recommenders to submit this Friday before I submit (that's what Stanford's email recommended)... still doing last minute edits...

Educational History Section [#permalink]
18 Oct 2007, 18:54
I have a question about the educational history section. I just noticed that it says to list all other 'post-secondary colleges.' This means you should list institutions you attended while in colleges as well, right? For example, I did study abroad through another school while in college but this should be listed? Thanks, the post-secondary was throwing me off.....

Anyone determine the best way to present the essay questions? Should I start a new page for each essay, or just include the next essay question and response directly after the previous questions content? If it's the latter of the two, I think I'm going to italicize the question or something.

In Educational History section of the application there is a phrase "International students should list the names and dates of all schools and degrees in the original language". What does it mean? Shall we list the names of our institutions/ universities in our native language: arabic, cyrillic, sanscrit, chineese?
Nick Hi Nick, Sorry, no idea since I'm not an international student. You should call the admissions office.
Guys, can't get through to admissions office - they do not pick up the phone calls
What could it mean - "International students should list the names and dates of all schools and degrees in the original language" ?

What are the different events at Center for Entrepreneurship?
Does it have events like "New Business Plan Competition" at Wharton??

the Stanford Center for Entrepreneurial Studies (CES) doesn't have a business plan competition, nor any special events. There is an Engineering-Business joint business plan competition, and a lot of events set up by the Entrepreneur Association. For some reason, the more I find out about Stanford's Entrep programs, the more disappointed I am. But oh well, I'll still be extremely delighted if I get in.
Also asked about the margins, and they said "use your judgment". I hope 0.5" is acceptable around the edges...

Very roughly... the 7 page limit = how many words?
My guess: 1400-1500.
Edit: Updated to 1875. Using Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1" Margin around, Double spacing

roughly 3200 words with my margins... I'm a little worried about my margins and lines spacing, so I'm editing my essays and removing any extraneous words/sentences. So roughly 450 words per page... That's not a lot of words for 4 essays, especially one that asks you to pour your heart and soul out.
application is done, just essays.

I understand that the essays should be 12 point, double spaced right?

My estimate using Times New Roman, 12 pt, Double spaced and 1" Margin around is 1875 words. (Sorry about the earlier figure)
This could be pretty important. Could others pls. plug in the figures they see.
And if possible, info about their margins!
