Re: Calling Stern/NYU Applicants [#permalink]

I applied in the round 1 and used poetic expression to describe my past, present and future. I used the Shakephere's "Seven Ages of Man" framework to categorize my life and used rhymes dipped in platonic philosophy to make meaning of my life. Also, I put each stage on each page (around eight short lines of poem per stage) and put my pic's from each stage of the life on each page. Being in NYC, I had the opportunity to visit admissions office and confirm that they would accept this format. So, I don't think simple poem should be a problem. But...I haven't received an interview invite yet, so I don't know if I went overboard with the creativity part...hopefully not

Hi..got a question on resume for Stern.
The app asks for a resume, stating that "Provide a current résumé including educational and professional information." Then on next section, it asks "Provide your Employment History separately from your résumé. "
I am having hard time differentiating "professional info" and "employment history" Can someone clarify this for me please? thank you

Just SEVEN R2 apps ? Why is NYU not getting much love ? Is it because of the student loan policy ? Are there any gmatclubbers who wanted to apply but decided against it ? I'd like to know some reasons ?

I thought about it as a R2 app, was still undecided about it when I found out about Kellogg...after that I decided against it. I initially was set to apply there, sent my GMAT score there and everything. However, the cost of living in NYC was a huge turn off and had my wife and I leaning against it after we thought more about it. NY isnt a fun city to be poor in.

To prepare for this eventuality, I always give my recommenders a deadline date of five days BEFORE the real deadline. gmat_march wrote: Jeez ...both my recommenders are still to submit their recos., they both asked what time is it due tonight ..., looks like they are going to do it just before tonight.

I did so bsd, and I reminded them day before yesterday, yesterday and today. At times you cannot do more t help yourself... Both of them are real trustworthy, one of em has written like 5 recommendations already for me, even during his christmas vacation ..., i hope they keep up to my trust tonight

2.39am here in Brussels, nightmare to get that application on time. I realized around midnight that my 3rd essay, a word doc with pics, was too large! I tried EVERYTHING, nothing worked. Thank God I had sort of prepared an "alternative" essay - which took me about 2h to update. PS: is it just me, or 500k limit is way to small for a "creative" essay? PPS: how come a word document containing only 3 images of 120k each gives me a word doc of 3.3megas?? I was going nuts.

I had to go with a low quality pdf, which , I felt, destroyed a lot of the hard work I had put in it. But then I guess the rules are the same for everyone. My high quality pdf for well over 6 megs. I understand international mail might take some time, but the materials had to be postmarked by 15th Jan, not necessarily had to reach them by 15th. ..

I could only get it finished by the 14th. Also, I didn't have a high quality color printer handy.Didn't wanna take any chances of it getting lost in the mail either. I guess deep down somewhere its my inner lazy self Now that the deadline's over ? What kind of ideas did you guys use ? gmat_march wrote: Just curious, why did you guys not print it out and mail it ...?
