This WL without Interview is really crazy. I don't understand the point. Either they should interview or just say "no thanks". In this case, you don't know if you have to submit additional material. Even if you submit any, you will never know if that is gonna help your application. I am thinking of writing an essay(one more!!!!.. I am already tired of writing essays..) and hope that it will help me. Good luck R2ers..

I want to join the conversation, but am not quite there.
I have a 3.9 gpa, small time school. only one year work experience, and a 690 GMAT. I realize that is not going to get it done so I am retaking the GMAT. I was scoring higher on the GMATPrep. If I score above a 740 would any of you recommend me to go ahead with a R3 application?

OK, here is a little feel of the Stern approach to things. WL without Interview from what I know will be something akin to "we are working our way through all the apps, you are a good candidate, but not one that immediately calls to interview given the pile of applications we know we have to look through" I am pretty sure I know a bunch of people who were in this position, then got interviews later, and are now here. I submitted last minute and posted stuff international, and simply got an interview late in the cycle. Once again I will try to ask and find out, but admissions isn't a place I go that often really so don't know the people that well. I would feel it means they have reviewed your application, and want to wait to see what the big pile of apps that haven't been reviewed look like before deciding to interview. Remember, Stern has a high yield on interview to offer, so may not be as quick to grant interviews.

I just hope to get an invite and ultimately an admit, for Stern is my DREAM school!!

After all, they promise to have decisions rendered by 4/1. Even though I applied a week or so before the deadline (which I imagine means before about 50%+ of the other R2'ers, Adcom doesn't need to update my status yet, right?
