I must start by saying I am by far the best person to answer this - it is an extremely tricky question.

From what I have gathered, I do expect there to be conversion from the waitlist - it is tricky for me to speak in terms, but they definitely expect that uninterviewed waitlists will, in some cases, move to interviews. Numbers are impossible for me to say, as I have no idea, but it is spoken in a way that it will happen to some extent, rather than might. The waitlist pre-interview especially (if you get wait-listed post interview, I have no idea). I might get an idea whether a visit would benefit you - I would honestly think talking with them before you planned the visit would be a far better way to express your interest, and potentially save money. I was an international student, and I never visited Stern de-facto until the day I interviewed. I think the belief that visiting and knowing counts less than understanding and fitting with Stern - utter intangible nonsense I know.

Just got waitlisted at Stern. Really weird cause I received a Wharton interview invite this week so I was kind of counting on an NYU invite. Guess this just further shows that it is impossible to figure out your chances at these top schools.

I'm sure you'll take a Wharton invite over an NYU invite.

Did you apply R1 or R2?

Yes, it is definitely nice to get a Wharton invite, although I am from New York and consider NYU to be one of my top choices. I applied on the deadline for R2.

Ok, Interview scheduled on the 5th of March at 9.45 am on campus. Strangely that was the only time Chicago were able to offer me an interview too (on the 4th). Must be one of the least favored times to interview.

Hey, wait a second guys, I never said I was complaining. I just think that more people deserve Stern interviews here. A bit quick to jump on me, no? I only wish the best for everyone on this forum as I understand what they are going through.....

Thanks. I figured I'd get in the theme, along with everyone else. I don't have a school logo yet, since I'm still waiting for admit, so I thought I'd go with the praying hands. As you put it, begging may be more appropriate, especially for NYU

I'm going to guess 09's app volume will be similar, if not greater, to this year's which is prob going to be more than last year's.
