Oh yeah...UCLA is working well towards strengthening the international element of their MBA program...more so than many of the other schools..

When I say placements for internationals I mean...placements for international students in the US, post MBA.
Many companies that go to "any" campus mention that they will not be hiring internationals to start with...this is true even for the best of schools...some companies just don't want to get into the VISA hassle.
This situation only gets compounded by talks of an imminent recession.

It is true that almost all the internationals got placed....but where? Did they get enough choice or was the job taken for the sake of a visa? This I say because the H1B scenario is far from good and can make people do crazy things.

So my question in essence was, how was the CMC helping students out?

In my opinion...it probably boils down to company policy regarding hiring internationals. No company would have separate policies for separate schools. But that is just me...

socalconsult wrote:
Not sure what you mean by placement? If the class is 1/3 international every year; they must be doing something right or the international students would stop coming.

It really depends on how my wife's discussion goes with her company about working remote. I had them put me on the list, but probably I will withdraw from it. I just want to keep that option open for now.

No!!!. That was my reaction when I saw the UCLA invite come in a couple of hours ago. I think I will do an off-campus interview with an alum and see what happens. DOnt get me wrong. I am thrilled with the invite. But this invite, if it turns into an admit, will definitely complicate my matriculation decision. At least I can kill some time until the Chicago decisions.

CONGRATS NC! I'm sure you'll get admitted into UCLA, and we'll have similar problems to worry about. :)

When will your interview be?

NC, you know we want you in California, one way or another, so we can form the West Coast Posse.

has Anderson sent out merit scholarship info yet? At A-Days they said they'd be sending them out "soon", but didn't give an exact date, instead just giving a vague "1-2 weeks" response... curious if anyone has heard anything back yet

The financial aid director said that the decisions will be mailed out TODAY (Tuesday). So we should be getting them tomorrow or Thursday.

I hope it's accurate... I'm dying to see if I (or anyone else here) gets anything...

EDIT: Email? wow, I guess that's better than I thought! So, what did you get???? (if you don't mind sharing)

EDIT 2: Nevermind, I just got mine after posting this. $40K (for 2 years), I'm happy! :-D
