Kryzak, you're not seriosuly considering UCLA now that you've gotten into Haas and Kellogg?

hrm... not sure... but with the $$, it's definitely a non-zero possibility.

yes i saw that. but looks like we only have to pay the enrollment fee of $1K... so if you end up changing your mind you only lose $1K which isnt that bad
(unless i misread something)... still, dont take my word for it... i'd check with admissions first to make sure they dont require you to put down a deposit too
kryzak - if we accept and pay the initial fee, can we still change our mind later and go to a different school? i feel that $1K is very little opportunity cost, and am still waiting to hear from 2 places. just want to make sure we are not legally "bound" to go there... common sense tells me you can accept as many places as you want (but would just lose all the initial deposits)

no, bobo, you are not legally bound to go to UCLA, you just lose the $1k. Which yes, it's a small fee to pay. I would still go the "ask for extension" route. I'm doing that with Haas today in light of Kellogg's offer (and their much later admit weekend). I'm debating whether to do that for UCLA or just try to narrow down my decision before April 4th. K.

WOW, congrats KK and skiC! I was feeling bummed for you after reading the Haas thread, but GREAT news here! UCLA is a very good school that no one can go wrong in going to! KK, the fellowship decision for R1 *just* came out this past Tuesday, but UCLA will probably work on it for R2 admits sooner because they *didn't* know that people were getting fellowships from other schools earlier... But today I realized the reason for UCLA's disorganization the past 2 years... they haven't had enough people at the admissions office for a while now, and with all the application increases, they're functioning with just 2-3 adcoms... it's amazing how they got through two application seasons... Next year will be A LOT better with a full time admissions director, so there is light at the end of the tunnel! red_s4 and skiC, I'm still rooting for the two of you at Haas!!! well, it looks like I have to make my UCLA decision within a week, so that'll probably happen soon.
