Hi All.
Hope you are well. I was hoping to get your opinions on which of the following 3 courses are best for a career in a Research oriented role in a Financial Institution i.e. a Bank or elsewhere:
Cambridge (MPhil Economics) vs HEC Paris (MSc Finance) vs IE (MSc Finance)
I have offers from the first 2, but also believe that the third one could be a contender if I were to get an offer.
Note that I have already > a couple years of experience in the Investment Banking sector in a middle office role but am looking to change roles. Hence which of the 3 would be most useful in helping me break into a different role altogether? I believe that Cambridge Econ would predominantly be made up of those coming straight from undergrad degrees. Also I am not sure how much employers would value an MPhil in Econ on its own without a PhD?
Also, what are HEC and IE like in terms of supporting those who already have a few years of industry experience? I remember at my interview with HEC, it sounded like they predominantly help students to secure Analyst roles, but less so for Associate roles in IBs?
Many thanks.
