Can I get into SJSU On-Campus Program with < 50%ile Quant? [#permalink]
30 Aug 2008, 10:43
I asked this question in the "Share your GMAT experience" forum. But I will repeat it here since it is probably a more appropriate place for it.
Question: Does anyone have experience with applying to SJSU for their evening On-Campus program? And what do you think my chances are with a < 50%ile Quant.
I took my GMAT last week and scored as follows: Unofficial score report. Quant: 35 (42%ile) Verbal: 44 (97%ile) Overall 650 (80%ile)
As you can see, I have a score of less that 50%ile in Quant. SJSU states the following on their website:
"Priority for admission will be given to applicants who have a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale) in their last 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of course work (Professional Development and Certificate Program course work cannot be included in this calculation) and a score of at least 500 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), with scores in the verbal and quantitative sections in the 50th percentile or above."
I have a GPA of 4.0 on my Computer Engg UG from India, am working in the US for 8+ years (IT Management) and total work experience is 13+. Female, early 30s - yadi yadi yada.
Any thoughts on SJSU application process are very welcome.

Well, the GMAT is only one portion of the application. According to US News, last year the average GMAT score at SJSU for the part time program was 561. So I think your score should be more than acceptable at SJSU.
