The answer to this problem is 72 but I dont understand why. CAn someone explain this to me

Let the length of the wire be 3x.If it is divided into 3 equal parts , th elength of each part is x.
Given that x is divible by 4, 6 and 8.
So length of x is LCM(4,6,8) = 24.

Length of the wire = 3x =72

Let length be T then by given information we have segments of length T/12, T/18 and T/24. If all these are integers this means that it has to be LCM of 12, 18 and 24 which is 72

I don't think the question specified that each segment must be equally divded into 4,6 and 8 parts. It only says each part must have an integer length.

If so, 24 would be the minimum.
