Need some quick help. Brain fart...

Can anyone solve this for x for me?

x = 16(1+sqrt(2))/(2+sqrt(2))

x = 16(1+sqrt(2))/(2+sqrt(2))

factor out the denominator to establish a common factor with the numerator:

= 16 (1 + sqrt(2) ) / sqrt(2) ( sqrt(2) + 1)

the 2 bolded factors can cancel each other out, leaving the following:

16 / sqrt(2)

since we can not leave the sqrt sign in the denominator, multiply both the numerator and the denominator by sqrt(2):

(16/sqrt(2) ) (sqrt(2)/sqrt(2))

= 8* sqrt(2)

i don't know the exact level it belongs in, but I would guess that it's an easy question. it didn't take me more than 30 seconds to solve this.
