Hi Kimberly,
Can you please share some deep real-life insights on how NY can be beneficial and will add value towards CBS MBA grads with RE focus both during MBA and post-MBA? And how NY is as far as RE industry is concerned because my post-MBA ST and LT goals are in RE...

All the information I've about NY, is mostly from Internet/Newspaper/Journals...and neither I've lived or worked in NY.So, I was thinking that you may share some solid practical information on the same to fill-up this void at least to some extent...

Look forward to hear from you.

P.S: Happy Independence day in advance!

Thank you for your posting.

New York is a real estate city - many of the world's largest developers and largest finance institutions are based here (banks, investment banks, brokers, private equity, etc.). Also, with land at a huge scarcity, land usage and development has gotten very creative. Lastly, Columbia is in midst of a huge expansion project - which will nearly double the size of the campus over the next decade and be home to some of the world's most innovative and pioneering academic centers. So, if working with the smartest people, the most innovative companies, controlling valuable assets and being part of a major expansion is inspiring to you, then New York City would provide the ideal backdrop to your MBA studies.

Good luck.

Being the business and cultural capital of the world, one could write a dissertation about the benefits of studying in New York City. Likewise for understating the vast reach of its real estate businesses. I recommend that you read the United States edition of the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times for a few weeks and you will gain a pretty good understanding of these two matters.

Thanks for your reply...

It's always good to do that but especially difficult when you're juggling with your job-GMAT-essays and of course family... :)

However, lemme see what I can do here!
