Capuchin monkeys often rub their bodies with a certain type of millipede. Laboratory tests show that secretions from the bodies of these millipedes are rich in two chemicals that are potent mosquito repellents, and mosquitoes carry parasites that debilitate capuchins. Some scientists hypothesize that the monkeys rub their bodies with the millipedes because doing so helps protect them from mosquitoes.
Which of the following, if true, provides the most support for the scientists’ hypothesis?

I went for C, however the OA is E and I do not agree with the OA

E is wrong. All the question is about capuchin monkeys, not about humans. It is clear that the best answer is C becuase it gives the best support. What is the source of that question?

In the first go I also went for C. However, after seeing the answer, I have the following explanation in support of E.
Why do scientists hypothesize that rubbing their bodies with millipedes helps protect monlkeys from mosquitoes? That could be because the chemicals from the bodies of these millipedes are probably not harmful to monkeys and hence monkeys often rub their bodies with millipedes. Else, had these chemicals been harmful to monkeys, they would not have often rubbed their bodies.

Also, C cannot be correct as it mentions that monkeys rarely rub their bodies except during the rainy seasion. This contradicts the first premise that mentions that Capuchin monkeys often rub their bodies......
