Career Options after MBA [#permalink] New post 18 Mar 2006, 15:28

I have been working in the Banking Industry for the past 3 years ( age 28, MS Industrial Engg) and I am considering the option of an MBA. But, I am not able to decide whether an MBA is the right step at this point. Can you folks point me to some information on career options available after MBA? Also, I am torn between all the different options that I keep reading - Finance/IBank, Consulting, Intl Mgmt etc etc. Where can I get more information on all these career paths and make an informed decision on what suits my case the best? How does one really decide on the MBA option - When and What concentration?

Thoughts from other members are welcome.

Thank you.

These are all good questions, and it's great that you're asking them now, at this stage in your career. The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) actually has a pretty good web site at that has a lot of "Is an MBA right for you?"-type information. I'll also give a quick plug for our book, which also covers these themes. But the GMAC web site is a great place to start.
