Describe your career progress to date

Experts out there -- How do u approach this Q...? Condensed version of the career progress is there on the resume any ways...

does one focus on what achieved vs what learned....

Interview invites, would u mind sharing ur approach for this..as i guess this Q is part of every schools essay....

Thanks

I think this is a standard goals essay. About as typical as it gets really.

Not a wharton applicant here so grain of salt, etc.

But to me those two things are one and the same.

Explain your career choice to date, why you changed firms, what drove you to pursue your interests so far and how this relates to both your short and long term goals. From there, highlight how the school relates to those goals and specifically what offerings interest you.

You must show how your career progress has logically led you to pursuing MBA and how does it correspond with your post-MBA goals. Show consistency if you can (of course it will be hard if you are switching eg from liberal arts to IB - but then show your talents/skills demonstrated in your previous experience that will help you to succeed in IB - ability to work 80-hours week should do ).
This is also a good essay to discuss your leadership/reamwork talents and professional achievements.
You can mention what is it that you like specifically like about your job (this is definitely not in your resume).
