Re: Career Switchers - oil/energy to government + optional essay [#permalink]
Hi Linda, many thanks!

The decline is marked.
My GPA was a solid 4.0 in the first three yeasr and then became 3.0 in 4th and around 3.5 in 5th. Does this warratn optional essay? I'm thinking of explaining just the 4th year.

Then I agree you should address the circumstances that caused or contributed to the drop. They'll want to know what happened.

Best,
Linda

Thanks Linda, you reply so fast!! Yup i had a personal crisis in my 4th year, which i addressed in my "what i didnt do well" essay in HBS. i will share this story in my optional essays for other schools explaining my grade. somehow the drop in my grades is kind of a "blessing" because i wouldnt know how to insert this story in any essay prompt in other schools haha
