interesting... as a geek, I prefer playing than designing the game: is there some kind of post mba careers for that kind of skills? (I am really good at some strategy games!!)

Vwjetty, I deleted most of Zaheer's posts on this thread. I just wanted to clarify this in case later visitors feel that your reaction is too strong, since they will only see one post by this member now. I apologize for any inconvenience.

At any rate, back on topic. I haven't played video games in a long time now (my last systems were Gamecube and Xbox). I do, however, pay attention to this industry. World of Warcraft's new expansion, Cataclysm, looks impressive. I used to play the original Starcraft, but don't know much about the sequel. Addictive game, though.

And concerning the actual article, I'm somewhat dissapointed that it didn't include representatives of more recognizable companies, such as Sony, Sega, or Nintendo. Not everyone, for instance, wants to be a game designer. These companies still need managers and business analysts. It would have been interesting to learn how these individuals extended their skills into the gaming industry.

Just an fyi Zynga (Farmville) does hire MBA's for various positions. It isn’t my cup of tea but if you into games the culture there is pretty unique.
